As a matter of fact, The Young and the Restless head writer Josh Griffith talked about Cane’s situation to CBS Soaps in Depth.
“I think Cane feels incredibly conflicted because there’s all kinds of emotions and dynamics in his relationship with Devon,” Griffith said.

Cane’s first stop will be to Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and he will be surprised when he sees Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Or perhaps not. If there’s something that we know about Phyllis, is that she’s the first person who has an agenda when it comes to someone else’s money.
However, Cane won’t reveal the reason behind his trip to Las Vegas and why he wants to talk to Chance. This irks Phyllis even more. Yet, Young and the Restless spoilers tease that someone will come up and whack Cane from behind and kidnap him. Yikes! Cane might be a very rich man now, but he’s also in very hot water.

It is all fake. Katherine never acknowledged Cane in life other than an employee. I don’t think she would have put him in her will. I also believe Amanda is fake. It is time to give Devon some peace! Let him have a life. Life with Hillary was somewhat rough, and now this. Really!

When Cane first came on, he was pretending to be Phillip Chancellor. He became close to Katherine and Jill.
i still think it is greedy Colin behind this. Why aren’t they going to a real court hearing when you have all of this money involved, stupid stupid storyline.
she is not chasing after Cane, she is chasing after Adam, Cane only thinks that Adam will lead him to Chance. and I don’t believe that the money will go to or belongs with Cane. This is a total scam.

I don’t think she wants Adam in that way, I truly believe they are just friends, only because they are so similar, both having no friends and everyone against both of them. Mind you I could see the two of them hooking up together because naturally they will get drunk, and fall into bed at least a couple of times…. not that it will lead to marriage, unless there is something for them both to gain. I read that Lily is coming back, I hope the writers don’t plan on making this scam come to fruition, taking all Devon’s money and handing it over to Cane, then Lily arrives and they get their happy little family back… obviously I dislike Cane, it was so nice not having him around there for awhile, I didn’t even notice him gone, I wonder who is looking after little Sam, poor little guy.

I totally agree. I thought things were suppose to get better, bringing Cane back is not getting better. Not by any means.
