Y&R spoilers suggest that fans never saw a confrontation between Cole and Aunt Jordan at the lake house.

He showed up one moment and was then dragged into the living room by Claire Grace (Hayley Erin) during another episode when the rest of the Newman family showed up and found out the truth about the young lady’s parentage.

Who’s to say that he wasn’t a part of Claire and Jordan’s setup for the Newmans, and he’s been playing his cards around them in the interim as an “insider” for Jordan?

Plus, there’s the DNA sample that has raised some eyebrows. After all, instead of getting one directly from Claire, he went up to the lake house and grabbed a hairbrush as a sample.

Many fans have speculated that the hairbrush he used could’ve been the same hairbrush Claire used to eerily brush Nikki Newman’s (Melody Thomas Scott) hair while being held captive.

This would’ve ensured that the results revealed Claire was Victoria’s daughter. It’s hard also not to wonder how Jordan has easily maneuvered around the Newman Ranch and was able to kidnap Claire in a secured facility. Could she have insider information filtered through Cole?

Y&R Spoilers – It’s In His Genes

Could Cole be discretely hiding some animosity toward the Newman family? Whether Claire is his long-lost daughter or not, he may have been in on this plan from the very beginning; many, many years ago when Ms. Grace was taken from the hospital.

Then again, maybe Jordan just recently brought him into the loop. He had an affair with both Nikki and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), so he could resent them both. Maybe he hasn’t been the happiest of campers since he left Genoa City and blames the Newmans for his woes.

Could he also secretly be hiding a mental health illness? After all, it’s in his genes. His mom Eve Howard (Margaret Mason) wasn’t only unstable, but so is his Aunt Jordan.
