Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cover-Up Crew Need J.T.’s Help – Will He Clear Their Names?

J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) can help, rather than torment, the Coverup Trio on the Young and the Restless. It was apparent to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) that the man she once loved and still cares about has something wrong with him. Her insight also can afford a reversal of fortune for the embattled ladies and the storyline itself.

Taking someone like J.T. and turning him dark was a bold choice. Credit is given to Mal Young within this digital space for having taken that risk, which was big. Knowing Y&R’s former executive producer and head writer also opted to do so within this genre and in daytime is appreciated by those who value creative leaps.

Did the storyline last too long? Okay, that’s a fair critique, even considering daytime drama’s insatiable need for five-days-a-week, year-round content.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – J.T. Hellstrom’s Redemption

As for where viewers have arrived in the spring of 2019, J.T.’s health issue can allow him to repent and also redeem himself. As importantly, he’ll be able to work with Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) to fill in all the blanks of the twisted story he’s driven since nearly dying last April.

That tell could hopefully enable the release of Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie, and Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) from prison.

What those three ladies have endured, starting with Vickie, within the last year is punishment enough for their reactions to what J.T. started.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Will J.T. Hellstrom Return In The Future?

Assuming Y&R allows for an uplifting arc-ender to occur, Luckinbill’s character would then be able to recur in the future. Of course that assumes he won’t die for real in the coming days, or weeks.

While the topics raised were important within this storyline, they’re in danger of becoming (or have become) overridden by J.T.’s personality change. Allowing him to have a preexisting condition, which caused his fully out-of-character behavior to have taken place, would make complete sense. It would also create a chance at having as much of the audience as possible to support a believable finale.
