Mariah (Camryn Grimes) did the coverup crew a huge favor on ‘The Young and the Restless’. By forcing Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) to admit the truth and then passing it along to Sharon (Sharon Case), all involved ladies might be able to save their collective skin.
Phantom threats existed in the past, most especially including Nick (Joshua Morrow). His gaslight as J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) scared the Thanksgiving stuffing out of Sharon, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Vickie (Amelia Heinle), and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). But Nick’s efforts proved to be aimed at Victor (Eric Braeden) and therefore never really possessed any true danger to the coverup crew.
Y&R Spoilers – Tessa Could Cause More Damage
This go-round Tessa has already demonstrated the power and the potential to do greater damage. While it’s true that turning the cover-up crew into the authorities at any point would also mean legal trouble for Tessa, her wild card status can’t be overlooked and must be dealt with.

In a forerunner to believing that she had the chops to run Jabot, Phyllis appointed herself the head of the quartet in question. She sprung into action last spring, shouting down Sharon, who wanted to contact the authorities to report the accidental killing of Mr. Hellstrom. So, it’s not surprising that Phyllis has again taken the lead in wanting to neutralize Tessa.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Nikki and Victoria Should Have Listened To Sharon
If Nikki and Vickie had only listened to Sharon, instead of Phyllis, all of what’s transpired would have been avoided. Sure, there’s no way to tell how Paul (Doug Davidson) would have handled matters. But Rey’s (Jordi Vilasuso) coming decisions will have to include the crimes the cover-up crew committed and that’s a major soapy problem.
Tessa has been desperate for many months. Her apparent need to help Crystal (Morgan Obenreder) spurned the anonymous money request to Nikki and eventual reveal to Mariah. While the four-member coverup crew has remained loyal to each other, there’s no way to fully control what Tessa will do from here on out. And that is why hardcore Y&R fans will watch, as this November thriller plays on.
