The above bone of contention, meaning Adam, will revive as a front-and-center issue upon Adam’s return from Las Vegas, Nevada. But before that happens buzz indicates that a face from Chelsea’s past, Simon Black (Jeffrey Vincent Parise), will stir the Halloween pot in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, Nick is recovering from the fallout that Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) death hoax caused. In particular, Chelsea’s son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), has been negatively impacted, mostly due to his dad’s bolt to Vegas. The idea of Nick running for public office may also introduce a new source of conflict in the very near future.

Last year, Chelsea suddenly decided to take the loot that was hidden in the walls of the former Chadam penthouse and store it in the columbarium where Adam’s (as then played by Justin Hartley) remains were believed to be. She felt spooked for some sketchy reason that projects as being further explored.
So, Chelsea took Connor (as then played by Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) and left town. Nick was stunned, as ‘Chick’ represented a committed relationship, where both parents were raising their children together and seemed to be moving toward marriage.

Revived trust issues reemerged this fall because Nick hadn’t taken Chelsea into his confidence regarding Victor’s faked death. Egan’s character didn’t leave Nick’s home this time and is the aggrieved, rather than the at fault, character.
Y&R Spoilers – Stronger Together Or Apart?
Like nearly every adult in this fictional city, if not every single one, Chelsea and Nick could be tagged as being stronger as a couple, than individually. Each person could also be written as more at peace when single.
Nick has no other current romantic interests. Chelsea still has a place in her heart for Adam, but surely isn’t madly in love with him. So, ‘Chick’ is legitimately an honest couple.

Nick was forgiving of Chelsea upon her return this summer. It’s fair to say that she’s trying understand her significant other’s recent actions. Neither person wants to split again and is invested in making things work long-term.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Time For Fresh Plot Paths
The seeming introduction of Simon as a controversial part of Chelsea’s past and Nick’s consideration of politics would create fresh plot paths for both characters to explore. The daily soap grind requires new stories for well-known alter egos and new challenges for couples.
It’s fair to argue in favor of ‘Chick’s’ continued existence, as Egan and Morrow are solid actors whose on-screen chemistry has worked in the past and is working again now.
