Is Victoria Rowell, who played the late Drucilla Winters, about to return to the CBS sudser? According to our inside CBS source, showrunners want to talk to the actress and the news is nothing short of jaw-dropping considering the raging water that has flowed under the bridge between them.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Is Victoria Rowell Returning To The show?
Victoria Rowell debuted as a young and very restless Dru in 1990. The character died in 2007 and that leaves a possible return open to all kinds of speculation. Is it possible that TPTB wants her to reprise the role of Drucilla even though the character has been presumed dead for years?
Of course, if that’s the case no soap worth its salt would have any trouble writing a convincing plot as to how she is actually alive—they practically invented back from the dead storylines!
Then again we can speculate that she could be a heretofore unknown twin or an exceptional look-alike cousin. Then again she could be cast as an entirely new character.
Y&R Spoilers – How Would Drucilla Winters Conceivably Be Written Back Into The Show?
Dru Winters was involved in several significant storylines including relationships with Neil Winters (the late Kristoff St. John) and his brother Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore). Her daughter Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and son Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) are currently on the canvas so it would make sense to have another Winters family member in the mix.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Do You Want To See Victoria Rowell Back On Daytime?
Following her departure from daytime’s number one rated sudser, Rowell sued CBS and Sony saying among other things that she was, “impoverished and blackballed because she had chosen to speak out against the discrimination and injustice that she had endured and witnessed happen to other African Americans.” The case was later dismissed.
In recent days she has voiced her stance on the Black Lives Matter movement and her Instagram addresses her thoughts. There she has shared her experience playing Drucilla Winters and she has also invited viewers of the soap and daytime television in general to consider her thoughts on current events.
No, don’t bring her back, there are alot of great actresses that could fill the spot, she would be a trouble maker for the whole cast.
