Young And the Restless Spoilers: Melissa Claire Egan Teases Chelsea And Adam’s Future On Y&R

The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Chelsea Newman’s (Melissa Claire Egan) return will shake up the storylines in the coming weeks. She will face off against Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as he tries to take her son away from her. It will bond her to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) as they work together to keep Adam at bay.

The actress who plays Chelsea, Melissa Claire Egan, talked to Soap Opera Digest about her return and how it came to be. She revealed that she left Y&R because she wasn’t happy with the storylines. She felt she wasn’t being challenged as an actress and she didn’t like the direction they were taking Chelsea. So, she decided to leave with the option to return later.

While she was away, Egan kept busy. She joined a band, traveled, and did many movies. She wanted to fill her year with lots of fun stuff and enjoy not being tied down to a TV show taping schedule.

Then, she heard Josh Griffith and Anthony Molina would be taking over the show. She knew that Y&R would improve because they are fabulous writers and showrunners. She began to warm up to the idea of coming back, but she still wasn’t sure if she was ready yet.

In February, she attended Kristoff St. John’s funeral. All of the Y&R family was there, and she was overwhelmed with the experience. She then decided it was time to come back. Josh reached out to her and it was the perfect time, so she signed on.

As for what’s ahead, she teased if Y&R fans want Chadam to reunite, they may be disappointed. Mark’s Adam is the darkest one to date and he probably won’t be able to reel Chelsea in. Nick and Chelsea will band together and fight Adam’s custody demands.

Egan encouraged the Y&R fans to keep watching the show because it’s going to get exciting in the weeks ahead. Melissa thinks that Grossman is a wonderful Adam and she cannot wait to see what’s ahead for them.
