The Young and The Restless viewers might be asking themselves why Nate would want to cozy up to Amanda when he and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) seem to be getting along fine.

It might be that he wants to find out more information about Hilary Curtis’ (Mishael Morgan) doppelganger since he was the one who tried to save Hilary and her unborn child’s life and failed. Nate is a doctor and knows there must be some reason why Amanda looks like Hilary’s twin – he probably suspects she is one.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Does He Want To Get Her To Trust Him?

Nate might be getting cozy with Amanda so she’ll feel more comfortable with him and trust him. As the saying goes, one catches more flies with honey than with vinegar. And Nate knows that unless Amanda purposely had plastic surgery to look like Hilary to spook Devon Hamilton, (Bryton James) she has to be a long lost twin of Hilary.

As a doctor, he may be able to tell if her face is natural or due to plastic surgery if he can get close enough to her. And that would be some pretty valuable information to help Devon combat this trumped up fake challenge to his grandmother’s will. On the other hand, if she’s a twin, he might be able to help her with some family history she may not have known she had.

Viewers will recall Devon’s recent conversation with Amanda, where he offered to tell her about Hilary. She offered the rather strange response that she would love to to hear it. Why would she love to hear about Hilary if she didn’t think she might be family?

It sure wouldn’t be a way to an easy road to romance with Devon, and besides, he’s moved on with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). Nate also knew Hilary, and in an intimate way only one’s physician can. He would be able to pick up on family traits that Amanda might display that he knew Hilary displayed. He will want to know Amanda’s background, where she was born, where she went to school and her likes and dislikes.

This way, he can try to uncover the truth about her and help Devon with his battle concerning the challenge to the will, and at the very least, if he can determine Amanda has not had plastic surgery and pass that onto Devon. It might allay his fears that someone is messing with his head by hiring Hilary’s doppelganger.
