The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is officially reverted. Yes, the original and iconic Stafford has reprised her role. Now, Phyllis will alter five lives in Genoa City, Wisconsin, for starters.

Sure, this legendary character will eventually mess with the living states of numerous GC residents. But let’s focus on current targets for the moment.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) isn’t used to someone being his equal. Take a person like Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson). She’s super smart and crafty. But Adam cheated her death blows not once, but twice.

Such is not the case with Phyllis. Her trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, yielded a surprising result, Adam is linked to Chance Chancellor (as last played by John Driscoll, in 2011). Not expecting that, Adam gives Phyllis the run of Dark Horse. He didn’t really want the company, but her taking of this chip wasn’t what he expected, or would have wanted.

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) ended things with Phyllis earlier this year. Her most recent betrayal, when the character was played by the great Gina Tognoni (Phyllis), pushed Phick off. Now that she’s connected to Adam, this spurned ally of Nick’s brother-enemy is even bigger trouble.

With the above, issues related to control of Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) are harder to face. Adam’s access to Phyllis, as a seeming business partner, or maybe more, also complicate the co-parenting of Phick’s daughter.

Yes, even though Summer Newman (Hunter King) is in her twenties, she’s often in need of solid parental advice. Just prior to Phyllis’ kidnapping, by Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), she was more than upset with her daughter.

Summer’s tell to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) about her mother’s hack into Jabot’s servers, which was an attempt to access information about upcoming products to make Phyllis’ ill-fated accessories business more appealing, was a soapy bridge too far. Summer won’t be able to regain her mother’s full trust too quickly and that’s a problem, as King’s character is ever in need of assistance due to her impulse choices.

As for Jack, he appears to have a burgeoning romance with a new colleague. But Phyllis was his two-time wife. Is there any doubt that Y&R will repair this couple again? And with that, Jack’s life will be roller coaster Phyllis, though they will actually love each other again.

Oh, we haven’t forgotten Kevin. Neither will Phyllis once she learns that he pushed the needle into her neck and then held her hostage in a cellar. Considering the dirt dug on Adam and how she went right after him with it, Kevin better be prepared to do Phyllis’ bidding, just as he’s doing Adam’s right now.
