Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Switch Begins – Michelle Stafford Returns

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that the attack on Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) at the Genoa City Athletic Club, where she’s been residing, begins the actor switch of this character. Michelle Stafford’s (Phyllis) return is believed to happen later this summer, as this daytime actor previously agreed to rejoin Y&R’s cast.

So who would want to stick a needle in Phyllis’ neck, thereby knocking her out? Sure, her actions in recent weeks, combined with the public pairing with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) ruffled many feathers. But it would seem that no one would have been motivated to drug her.

Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) is known to be returning to GC. Readers of this comprehensive soap site have been aware of Rikaart’s re-up with Y&R for awhile. Combine that with heavy Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) talk in recent episodes and it’s fair to wonder if Kevin, for whatever reason, was wearing the black mask in Phyllis’ suite?

However, news flashed across many people’s screens earlier this week that Hendrickson is leaving her role as Margaux Dawson on General Hospital. Yes, this equally great actor is also returning to Y&R.

So, is Chloe the assaulter? Her motivation to go after Phyllis would be challenging to imagine at this point in the plot. Chloe has a history of attacking Adam, including shooting him with a sedative dart and then blowing up the cabin where he was believed to have died in September 2016.

But who would be most roiled to see Phyllis apparently assisting Adam? Well, the woman who still believes that he was responsible for running her daughter down, even if that tragedy was accidental in October 2013.

Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) death continued to haunt Chloe through the point when she left town. That followed Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) realization that she’d supposedly killed Adam (as then played by Justin Hartley).

Victor allowed Chloe to fake her own death due to his not wanting her second-born daughter, Bella Mitchell (Cali May Kinder), to be without her mother. Chloe, Bella, and Kevin then took off for the west coast a few years ago, where they’ve supposedly been living ever since.

Chloe, or Kevin as Phyllis’ assaulter would make sense. But what if neither person did it?

Phyllis’ list of enemies is enough to fill multiple posts about this classic daytime show. In brief then, regarding a potential alternative foe, it’s possible that she financially stiffed someone who was involved in the JCV knockoff endeavor. That type of unknown enemy could be the culprit, unless Khloe was involved.
