Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers note that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) recently revealed to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) her feelings of jealousy toward Claire Grace (Hayley Erin). Her new cousin has bonded quickly with Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell), and Summer naturally feels insecure about it.
While Summer isn’t Harrison’s biological mom, she’s the only “mother” he’s ever known. Still, as she’s no longer with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), and no longer lives at the Abbott mansion, she feels like her time with Harrison is limited. She’s scared he’ll forget about her.
Summer noted during that conversation that she and Kyle never drafted an official custody agreement, and maybe it’s time to do so. It looks like things could get sticky between Skyle, so will this prompt Summer to do something drastic?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Things Are Going To Get “Nasty”
Y&R spoilers indicate that Kyle and Summer aren’t exactly on the same page lately when it comes to co-parenting. Harrison’s kidnapping threw the couple for a loop, and as Summer doesn’t trust Claire (although she has tried to extend an olive branch), Kyle is intrigued by the new Newman.
During a red-carpet interview by Michael Fairman TV at the 51st Daytime Emmys, Michael Mealor stated that things are going to get “nasty” between Summer, Kyle, and Claire.
There’s a good chance that Summer does approach Kyle to have something placed in writing about custody, but will Kyle agree to it?
Y&R Spoilers – The Summance Wedding
If Kyle digs his heels about a custody agreement, Summer may decide to take things to another level. With Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) as a grandfather, she may turn to the Moustache for help, and he may offer up Michael Baldwin’s (Christian LeBlanc) legal services.
Then again, as Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) is her brother, and he’s with attorney Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom), could Summer use her as a lawyer? Could Heather suggest presenting a solid family life for the judge?
Summer is in a good relationship with Chance, while Kyle is a single pringle who often leaves Harrison for “sleepovers” with other women – Summer may point to his relationship with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver).
Still a “good relationship” is far different from a marriage, so could Stevens suggest moving up their next romantic step for this custody battle?

There is no blood line with summer. Tell her to marry chance and have a kid.
Summer doesn’t have a chance in getting Harrison shes not his mother she never adopted him. Harrison hardly ever says anything about her. She could make more time to spend with him. Don’t make Adam a bad guy again. Devon is so self righteous always has been he has to have his way or no way. Abby don’t deserve him.
“PLEASE STOP SAYING SUMMER IS THE ONLY MOTHER HARRISON HAS EVER KNOWN.” Tara brought Harrison to Genoa City when he was almost 5 years old. He is now 7, so I am positive that even though he calls Summer mommy, he knows who his mother is.
In the real world, Summer has no legal standing in getting custody of Harrison. A biological parent has more clout in the legal system. She did not sign adoption papers because his biological mother (Tara) never relinquished her parental rights.
Summer is a spoiled brat!
I never believe Summer when she talks about her maternal feelings for Harrison. Summer is too self centered to ever fully care and sacrifice for a child. And slapping her together with Chance is ridiculous. They have the chemistry of oil and water. They just do not go together. Chance belonged with Sharon and it was a big mistake to break them apart. Kyle is the only one who deserves custody of his son. I like him and Claire together and think the 3 if them would make a great family!
I TOTALLY agree! I hated when Chance and Summer got together. She needs some business of her own. She’s always taking from others. Sharon has become the Go to person for everyone. A nice gesture but she needs a love interest. Too young to be playing an OZ, a wise woman.
I am so tired of Summer and her antics. It’s her way or no way. She appears to have to be the center of attention at all times. Harrison is not her child. She can make time to see him away from the Abbott’s mansion. Don’t drag him into a legal situation, he’s only a little boy. Having to be torn between two families. He just might hate her for that action. She acted like a spoil child when Harrison was kidnapped blaming everyone and everything. Please marry Chance and move on.
I’m so tired of Summer’s storyline line, of Daniel’s storyline. I’m glad Phyllis is in a corner for a moment. Y&R we need something new.
I don’t remember if Tara gave up her parental rights, but I’ve read many comments on different social media post saying she did.
But even if she did give up her rights, Summer never legally adopted him.
Idk how things work for custody, but if an ex stepmom, why would a judge grant you joint or full custody?
if she wants to have a quickie marriage with Chance so she can adoption him that’s ridiculous. He isn’t even involved in Dom’s life. Why would he be involved in Harrison‘s life?
First Summer doesn’t like or trust Claire because she thinks she’s crazy next she admits that she’s jealous.
At times she’s almost obsessed with Harrison.
It’s great Harrison has people that care about him, but she’s over the top and it gets exhausting.
She cares too much and tines Kyle‘s levelheaded other times he almost is too nonchalant about it.
I feel she’s trying to gain custody for the wrong reasons.
If Kyle does start dating Claire or if he dates someone else and gets married again, guess what Harrison’s probably gonna call her mom and Summer is going to have a total emotional breakdown.
