Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) and Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) are being teased as a new couple on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While Calle’s character’s last name hasn’t yet reverted to its maiden form, she expects it to shortly.

The character Johnson plays is supremely confident in many areas of his life, which is a partial front. But when it comes to Lola, he’s genuinely hesitant because he’s in love. Yes, this isn’t a crush, as apparently Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) had on the woman he became transfixed with when he spotted the Living La Vida Lola food truck going on two years ago.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lola Rosales Believes That Kola Wasn’t Fully Real

Lola has come to believe, based on Kyle’s recent decision, that ‘Kola’ was never fully real. She understands that Kyle came to care for her. He may have even had feelings that could be classified as love, but his soul mate seemingly was, is, and will always be Summer Newman (Hunter King).

The above has rightly frustrated ‘Kola’ fans, as everything Y&R presented to them in the past year-plus felt legit. The amount of time and emotional investment viewers were asked to make in the show’s arguably most endearing couple now seems lost.

The above could be why Calle’s character is saying that she’s come to believe that Kyle always loved Summer and that he’s moved on. Lola is expressing acceptance of the theory that ‘Skyle’ was always in Kyle’s heart, which projects her as the definitive authority on the subject.

In effect, fans are being told that if Lola believes it, they should as well.

Y&R Spoilers – Kyle Abbott Isn’t A Jerk

Theo thinks that his newfound cousin is a jerk, but Lola doesn’t. She’s heartbroken that the assumed love of her life proved to be a short-term significant other.

If it really is true that Kyle never stopped loving Summer, then he was being honest in recently admitting to Lola that they were over. Of course, Lola had to press her husband about this issue. But he couldn’t deny his wife’s suspicion.

Johnson’s character has depth. After initially seeming like a shallow, self-promoter, his genetic backstory added context and helped to explain why he’s acted as he has to-date.

Theo really does care about Lola. As fans recall, he’s the one who told Summer that they were done, thereby ending ‘Tummer’, which was basically a ‘Kola’ counter couple.

Lola agreed to hear Theo’s date offer after her divorce is final. Considering that she already kissed him passionately at Society, Theo should expect a yes. The fans are also anticipating that they will quickly become a couple.
