Young and the Restless (YR) Rumor: Avery Returns To Genoa City – Phyllis’ Sister Back

It’s been awhile since Avery Bailey Clark (Jessica Collins), Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) sister, was in Genoa City on ‘The Young and the Restless’. But a social media post Collins recently offered, about reprising a favorite role, appears to indicate that she’s returning to Y&R.
Avery left town in 2015, under pained circumstances. She’d wrongly accused her former husband, Joe Clark (Scott Elrod), of a committing a vicious crime against her. Realization of the truth later caused Avery to question her work as an attorney. So she left Wisconsin and hasn’t been seen since.
As hardcore Y&R fans recall, Avery’s backstory includes her having become involved with Dylan McAvoy (Steve Burton) while married to Joe. That took place before fans knew the characters existed.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Nick And Avery Reunion In The Works?
Avery’s romantic connection to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) was also a significant part of the later part of this character’s storyline. With Nick currently being single, this pairing would seem prime for revival.
If, as speculation suggests, Collins is rejoining the cast, Y&R would continue its pattern of offering familiar characters to its audience. Behind the scenes changes at the show, dating back to last year, have been geared to restoring the look and feel of this classic steamer in order to provide maximum appeal for all viewers.
Stafford’s unexpected return to the cast provides another opportunity for her to work with Collins, if she’s returning. Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) portrayed Avery’s sister during the latter period of Collins’ run on the show. But Stafford was there when Collins first joined the cast in 2011.
Nick’s current circumstances, relating to his custody battle with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), have already been lawyered, via Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc). But a reconnect with Avery would surely enable the type of personal support he needs. Then again, maybe Nick taps a legal tag team as he fights his brother for control of Adam’s biological son.

Young And The Restless Alum Jessica Collins Teases Return
Collins recent work, outside of this projected Y&R role reprisal, includes television appearances on 9-1-1, where she portrayed Christina Gallagher, and on Grey’s Anatomy, where she portrayed Denise, a character who didn’t have a last name.
The actor also appears in Dolly Parton’s new anthology series on Netflix. Collins plays Monica on Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings. This series builds off two movies that Parton produced for broadcast network television, which were based on her songs. Y&R fans know that Alyvia Alyn Lind (Faith Newman) appears in both of Parton’s TV movies, where she played a young Dolly Parton.

NO!!! Not at all! She was so stiff & wooden, and really quite unlikeable! Her character, which added absolutely nothing to Genoa City, and just her, the person. I’m sure privately she’s a wonderful lovely person, but as an actress? No warmth or likability came thru at all. And her character? Avery is totally useless! I hated her with Nick, too, they were awful together… I’d rather you bring Gloria back for comic relief! And as it is, Chelsea & Chloe & Kevin are more than enough in the returning actors department! And it sounds like there’s a chance that Chance Chancellor will be returning, too, and maybe his mom, Nina? So if Avery is returning at all, I sure hope it’s just for a 1 episode thing only… Nothing more! Otherwise, if we viewers get a vote, Please Keep Her Away!! We don’t need or want Avery in GC… Then again I don’t want or need Lola and Rey, either… Can’t stand them!

NO….NOT ONE LITTLE IOTA. I hated her with Nick and don’t want to go there again. She should stick to being a chef and leave the Y and R alone. I don’t want her back.

I would love to see Avery back. Such a beautiful actress. I thought she did a great job. I’ve asked for her come back for about a year now. Hope lots of other people would love to have her back too!
YES! Loved Avery and would love to see her reunite with Nick! He needs a soft, kind woman in his life! Since Chelsea left him he has become much too harsh and edgy and could use someone like Avery to balance him!
And forgot to mention how Phyllis could also use an ally and someone to be her voice of reason! They play off each other nicely!
I LOVED Avery…she was the smartest woman on that show. She is also a really good actress , so I hope she returns to stay!
I would like to see Avery back put her with Nick. There is no else on the show I would like to see Nick with. If her and Michael team up would love ❤️ to see that. Don’t want this con artist Adam win. Don’t like how he keeps using Kevin. Michael was right when he told him if you do that for Adam will never let you go.

Yes l missed Avery she is so talented bring her back full time and send Theo packing Zoe packing and those 2 girls theo brought in they r not good actors at all.Let Avery stir things up in GC and maybe Rey and Avery will end up with some history between them. And please let’s not focus on Adam so much .Let’s get Victor well again and let him b his old ruthless self.Let all the Newmans come to grips with everything and b a family no hate just love
