Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) unexpectedly spotted the once and maybe again ‘Phick’ at Society on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Like everyone, he could clearly see that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) were making goo goo eyes at each other.

Yes, Phyllis has been circling Nick, which is exactly what Adam said. Phyllis’ presumed friend called her out and she didn’t like it. That’s oh so ‘Red’.

In the continuing rebirth of Y&R’s character version of a phoenix, Stafford has taken the scripts and plot space she’s been given and is killing it once more in daytime.

Phyllis has long loved Nick. Sure, he wasn’t the type of soul mate match Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) was once upon a time. However, the infamous manner in which Nick and Phyllis first paired and the daughter they share created a unique and lasting bond.

For Adam to finally take Phyllis up on her offer to work together, albeit for interests that also serve his agenda, was not outrageous. But it was very revealing that she vehemently accused him of being condescending and tried to claim that he didn’t really know who she was underneath.

The Phyllis doth protest too much, or so William Shakespeare would have written into the dialogue if he was a current part of Y&R’s writing staff.

Y&R Spoilers – Nick Newman Circling Former Wife

Nick does love Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) at this moment in time. They were planning on being together and raise their sons, but Adam and all that surrounds him put a deep crimp into ‘Chick’s’ style.

There is no doubt that Nick has gotten the trust issues he had with Phyllis. Devoted viewers recall that she was being played by Gina Tognoni (Phyllis) at the time Nick booted her from his home, which was built with Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) in mind.

A recent meaningful conversation during a Genoa City, Wisconsin, blackout, some gaming sessions, and plenty of smiles all underscore that the viewer’s and Adam’s instincts were right. Nick and Phyllis are reconsidering each other.

Chelsea is still in love with Nick. She is living in the penthouse, but that’s purely because Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) is in the throes of a mental health crisis.

Adam has never stopped loving Chelsea. He didn’t anticipate his former wife needing to move in shortly after Connor asked to live with him, but circumstances dictated it was best.

‘Chadam’ again? Adam hopes so and he wants Phyllis’ help with Nick to coax that plan along. Phyllis has said no, for now.
