Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) went to his father’s famous ranch on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So much for the vaunted security team the undead Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) references so often.
After failing to keep J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) off the premises, Adam simply entered the home where Victor was attempting to hide his still beating heart. Then, after talking matters out and holding their ground, both Newman men cried it out.
However, due to all that’s happened and where matters seemingly stand now, there is still hope for a reconciliation between this father and son. And yes, hope was a reference to Hope Adams Newman Wilson (Signy Coleman) who remains beloved by both men.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Finally Recognizes Reality
Admitting he has a problem is a breakthrough. That point was lost on Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) who understandably is worried about Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) reaction to Adam saying that he’s messed up and is leaving Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Victor has been saying that his son needs this summer. That came after he was tipped to Adam being alive. But Las Vegas, Nevada, hopes seemed dashed shortly after ‘Spider’ agreed to return home.
Y&R Spoilers – Yesterday Offers Guidepost To Tomorrow
Wonderful flashback scenes reminded hardcore viewers of the relationship Adam had with the man he didn’t realize was his father. That was when Adam was living on the farm in Kansas, with his mother, Hope.
Adam’s refusal to believe that his mother, not Victor, split their family has long fueled his bitterness. That’s simply an aftereffect of Hope having died in 2008, when Chris Engen (Adam) became the first adult actor to embody Adam.
Hope’s desire to tell her son that Victor was his father before she died added a legacy character to the already infamous Newman clan. A significant portion of Y&R’s overall storyline has since been devoted to the Adam character whenever he’s been written into the show these past 11 years.
There have been rare moments of peace between Adam and Victor, along with other GC personalities. Now, it’s fair to wonder if this focus on the past is actually a guidepost to tomorrow?
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Fresh Direction Needed
Adam’s bad guy image has been well played through the years. Grossman is also killing it (pun intended due to the Victor death ruse) as Y&R’s leading villain.
However, the audience would respond to a change in direction if it’s delivered with thoughtful style. While Adam can’t realistically be written as Hope was, he can be far less mean to his family.
A redemption storyline, within limits and believability, is plausible. Hopefully that’s being teed up this fall.

Yes it was hope who didn’t want victor in adam’s life when has that stop victor. If victor wanted Adam as his son he would have found a way to be in Adam’s life. There was a time in the early years victor never wanted children. And the Newman brats never wanted Adam in the Newman family. Still want victor Nikki & the rest of those involved in the victor deception to go to jail. And Nate should lose his license. All Adam ever wanted was to be accepted as a newman but the Newman brats didn’t want Adam in the family
yes that is so true and he wasn’t ever excepted and wasn’t welcomed, was always
pushed aside and I don’t know why the writers wanted Adam back when he doesn’t
have family and I liked that when his father Victor let him go and hope the cops
don’t try and track him down cause he isn’t ever coming back to Genoa City.
Victor played dead and his other brats along with his wife Nikki went along with
him so I agree with you they should all be in jail for this ‘fake’ death!
