Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Chelsea Moves On From Adam – Chick Reforming

Chelsea Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan) is not interested in a reunion with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. His hopes to reunite the ‘Chadam’ family, with the addition of Christian Newman (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen), don’t appear to be in the cards.

Yes, the implied reference to gambling was a nod toward ‘Spider’s’ Las Vegas, Nevada, life. But it’s not Adam’s memory loss period that’s made Chelsea leery. Instead, the shocking death of her newer husband, Calvin Boudreau (John Burke), is compelling Chelsea to return to the security that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) once offered and again does.

As Y&R viewers recall, Chelsea left Nick, without warning, in 2018. That devastated the man who believed he was going to be sharing his life with her and her son indefinitely.

Chelsea’s exit from Genoa City, Wisconsin, was spurned by the actor’s desire to take a leave from the soap. She didn’t intend the departure to be forever and was later affected by the emotions connected to Kristoff St. John’s (Neil Winters) funeral that was held earlier this year, which included many people from Y&R. Egan agreed to return to the show after being asked to reprise her character a short while thereafter.

In creating tension between the returned Chelsea and the recast Adam, Y&R is developing a concurrent storyline that can run for awhile. Chelsea’s side with Nick puts her in league with Adam’s brother.

Nick not only has current custody of Christian, but also would revert to being Connor Newman’s (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) stepfather. That would drive Adam wild on three fronts, being that Nick would be romantically connected to his ex-wife and both of his biological sons.

Meanwhile, Adam’s link to Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) is clear and purposeful. He took control of Dark Horse with the intent of trading control of it for Connor. That move was unusual, as Adam knows Nick truly cares for Christian and has been a good father figure to him.

So, if Nick does retain full contact with Chelsea, Christian, and Connor, Adam will attempt to prod as hard as possible with the other people who represent Nick’s extended family. Chelsea’s stand with one brother over the other establishes a scorching summer arc on Y&R.
