Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Nikki Aims To Kill Again – J.T. Pressure Intensifies

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is armed and ready on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She’s proven deadly, rather than just dangerous on three separate occasions in the past. Whether the gun she pulls at the Ranch is fired and at who, will soon by seen by Y&R’s immensely patient fans.

It’s hard to imagine that Thad Luckinbill’s (J.T.) surprise return to the cast took place two calendar years ago. His reprisal at the end of 2017 led to one of the more shocking character devolvements in modern Y&R history.

J.T. Hellstrom’s transformation into a deranged monster is fully questionable, as the evidence for his metamorphosis was only explained as resulting from a job setback. A genetic abnormality, developed health condition, or some other explainable happenstance would have afforded this once-normal regular character compassion and even a chance at redemption wasn’t presented, or seemingly considered.

But that wasn’t former executive producer and head writer Mal Young’s goal. He opted to write J.T. dark as a way to create a storyline that’s still running into 2019.

It’s natural that Nikki would be on edge. Victor (Eric Braeden) has been framed on charges of murdering J.T., when she committed the accidental act that was taken in defense of Victoria (Amelia Heinle). Beyond all that’s happened, some as yet unknown tormentor just positioned the poker Nikki used to hit J.T. over the head at the foot of the fireplace within the Newman Ranch.

In yet another instinctive act, Nikki pulls a gun from a dresser drawer as a shadowy figure approaches her room at ‘Niktor’s’ unhumble abode. She shout’s, “Who’s there!”, while aiming the peace maker and then, well, that’s the teaser.

At some point this storyline must end. But when it does soap’s largest audience deserves a full explanation that makes logical sense. So whoever moved J.T.’s body and has been manipulating the Newman family’s lives, along with those of others, must make soapy sense. While J.T. might not be able to be redeemed, this arc still can.
