Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Victoria Gains Guardianship of Christian – Billy Stuck With Adam’s Son

At least Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) gained a minor victory on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The custody hearing involving the boy he considers his son didn’t go as planned, with a temporary guardian being called for.

Thankfully Nick and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) were allowed to suggest candidates to take care of Christian Newman (Jaime and Alister Tobias) during the next three months. But what happens during this intermediary period before a final ruling takes place could change Nick’s mind about the plan he’s employed.

Young and the Restless – Vickie Is A Good Mother Figure

In addition to being Nick’s sister and Christian’s aunt, Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) is a mother to two children. One of them, Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri), is the child she had with Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). The other, Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare), is the son that Billy had with Chelsea Boudreau (Melissa Claire Egan).

Vickie’s adoption of Johnny reflects the true generosity of her heart. She’s always done right by both of her children and will be a good full-time influence on Christian. However, Billy has entered a period of instability.

Young and the Restless – Billy, Delia, and Dash Recalled

Vickie and Billy held a recent commitment ceremony. They felt that type of event was best, as their past marriages failed. However, they’ve never stopped loving each other, or being good parents to their children.

As Y&R fans have seen, Billy has fallen off the emotional wagon in recent weeks. Well, to be more accurate, he was pushed by Adam’s return to Genoa City, Wisconsin.

The recast of the character who is believed to have accidentally killed Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) in October 2013, comes with an enduring caveat to the storyline. Billy (as then played by Billy Miller) stopped off at a store to get ice cream for a party on that ill-fated night. That wasn’t the problem.

Billy’s leaving Delia alone in the car with her dog Dash established what came next. She let Dash out, he ran off and she followed in her dark witch costume. Adam (as then played by Michael Muhney) approached in his black SUV and unknowingly hit something, which he later believed was Delia. Adam didn’t report what happened to the authorities immediately after that realization, which still haunts him to this day.

Young and the Restless – Haunting Memories and Coming Problems

The Delia detail is shown above because Billy has been increasingly thinking and dreaming about Adam’s role in his daughter’s death. Underneath the surface, where it’s always been, lies maddening guilt as well.

Billy’s rage against Adam won’t be wished away. Combine that reality with the fact that Christian will occasionally be under Billy’s sole care and the potential for distraction awaits.
