Victor (Eric Braeden) feels bound to play the hero. He’s not about to let Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) confess for a murder that was accidental. The ‘Moustache’ is even willing to wait in prison, or be convicted because he believes any charges pressed against him will be overturned. But letting the love of his life face real charges for an act she did commit? No!
In what would be the ultimate storyline stunner, one that many have understandably written off as realistically unbelievable and too much of a stretch, even by soapy standards, Luckinbill’s character could be the one person capable of saving Nikki, or Victor from spending the rest of their fictional lives behind bars.
The only way that Victor gets off is if real evidence, not the thin, circumstantial type that Detective Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) has thrown at him, emerges. Then, assuming that Nikki is revealed, or confesses against her husband’s wishes, the only way she possibly escapes what would likely be a harsh sentence for the coverup and its after effects is if she didn’t actually kill J.T.
But how could that be?
A human being could survive a head-conk and being transported to Chancellor Park in a vehicle. Said individual may have had such a fait heart rate that Nikki, Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), and Sharon (Sharon Case) perceived that death was realized, but wasn’t.
However, there’s no way J.T. could have survived being buried under many rectangular feet of dirt for any length of time. But if the out of character guy who seemed to be J.T. was some other person all along, then Luckinbill was playing a dual role.

In this instance a human would have been killed, but it would have been some unknown, evil twin, or a deranged doppelganger who, for some reason, had taken over J.T.’s life, like Nick (Joshua Morrow) later did. A wild scenario and one that’s been seen before in Genoa City, yes. But it’s plausible and would allow Nikki to not need justice, as the twin, or look-a-like’s fate wouldn’t need to be discovered by Rey, Christine (Lauralee Bell), or whoever else.
J.T. returns and therefore saves Nikki and Victor from prison. Seemingly impossible, but this is daytime drama and this scenario would work.
Fans of ‘The Young and the Restless’ rightfully express their opinions on a regular basis. So, will J.T. save Victor and Nikki from prison?
