Y&R Day Ahead Recap Monday, Sept 28: Matt’s Patty Bombshell, Phyllis Targets Cane & Victoria Gets Steamy

The Young and The Restless day ahead recap for Monday, September  28 revealed Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) got Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) a love nest, while Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) left town. Plus, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) had a proposal for Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn).

Kyle And Victoria’s Love Nest

Victoria prefers a game with consequences. Kyle proposes removing clothing for each “yes” answer-Victoria finds this appealing; she cancels her morning meetings while Kyle has already canceled his.

Kyle & Victoria’s Game Gets Steamy

Kyle opens with “Have you ever been fired from a job;” Victoria loses her vest; Kyle loses his tie. Next question: “Have you ever eaten food out of a trash can on a dare?”

Victoria is appalled while Kyle blames the app for the crude prompt. He then asks if she’s ever been skinny-dipping-a story Kyle himself shared their first night together-the question “Have you ever had hot, passionate sex with someone you shouldn’t?”

He suggests they stop and keep what’s left on-Victoria prefers one of them forfeit instead; moments later, they’re entangled together.

Victoria Embraces Their Secret Hideaway

After getting dressed, Victoria likes Kyle’s apartment and wants to personalize it; Kyle cautions them to remain vigilant against surveillance or pursuit.

Though they believe their relationship is secret, both find the secrecy thrilling. Victoria calls it their sanctuary, but Kyle reframes it as their danger zone-he enjoys the subterfuge.

Kyle claims he understands Victoria better after their game, surprised she’d end a relationship via text.

Victoria reminds him he lost clothing on that same question-Kyle shrugs it off, attributing his poor judgment to being male.

Nick Heads Out For  Work

Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) stops by to check if Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is available, but Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) informs him she’s currently at the office.

As Nick prepares to head into work himself, Victor expresses his satisfaction at having him back on board.

Nick brings up that if Victor had permitted his return when he initially requested it, the outcome might have been quite different.

Victor justifies his choice, explaining he worried that work-related stress could be detrimental to Nick’s wellbeing.

Nick assures him he’s in excellent shape and encourages him to maintain this positive state while staying connected with a therapist or Nikki should his mental state shift.

Victor And Nick Discuss Matt

Victor mentions he has important information to relay that Victoria shared with him the previous evening; Matt then arrives, accompanied by one of Victor’s security personnel.

Nick immediately questions Matt’s presence and demands answers, while Matt claims ignorance and directs Nick to ask Victor instead.

Nick points out that Matt was supposed to have departed town, and Matt explains he was heading out when Victor’s associate intercepted him.

Victor counters that they’ve heard this excuse repeatedly, yet Matt remains-Matt insists this time is genuine-he’s resolved all outstanding matters and won’t be leaving by himself.

Nick objects, interpreting Matt’s words to mean he intends to leave town with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), and vows to prevent it from happening.

Matt Drops His Patty Bombshell

Matt smiles and assures Nick he’s grateful for his help protecting Phyllis while he’s away-Victor asks who Matt’s traveling with, expecting it to be Phyllis.

Matt reluctantly discloses he’s removing another problem from Genoa City: Patty Williams (Stacy Haiduk); Victor finds it humorous

. Nick doubts Matt can keep Patty from harming him-Matt states he’ll contact authorities after they leave Genoa City safely.

Nick warns that Patty is unstable and uncontrollable; Matt insists he can convince her to turn herself in, which serves her interests.

Nick remains unconvinced, but Matt argues her return to prison would demonstrate his reformation, and  advises against the LA trip; Matt dismisses it entirely; he questions Nick’s concern as long as he avoids Genoa City.

Matt Is Willing To Stay And Pursue Redemption

Matt declares his readiness to stay and pursue redemption, acknowledging futility and suggesting this reflects worse on them than him; as he moves to exit, Victor defers to Nick’s judgment.

Nick orders Matt to leave permanently, threatening severe consequences if he returns-Matt thanks them before departing, urging Nick to care for Phyllis and wishing him well; Nick angrily tells him to go. After Matt leaves, Nick hopes never to see him again.

She reveals Matt has left town, sparking their curiosity, but she claims ignorance and indifference-she has Lauren Baldwin (Tracey E. Bregman) and needs no one else.

Phyllis expresses surprise at Billy’s Chancellor abandonment-Billy cites competing priorities and leaves when his phone alerts him.

Billy Runs Into Kyle, And They Talk About Bachelor Parties

Billy encounters Kyle and offers his congratulations on the impressive presale performance.

Kyle wonders whether Billy’s wedding planner might have some suggestions for organizing his bachelor party, but Billy declines, explaining that party planning isn’t really his forte.

He’s particularly keen to avoid hosting the celebration in a tent with an elephant present.

Billy expresses how proud everyone feels about Kyle’s willingness to embrace a more prominent position at Jabot.

He encourages Kyle that maintaining sound judgment will allow him to remain the golden boy indefinitely.

Victoria Arrives At Her Parents’ House

Victoria arrives for a visit, and Victor remarks that he’s never witnessed her looking quite so luminous; Nick concurs with this observation.

Victoria becomes curious about what they were discussing prior to her arrival, prompting Victor to express his gratitude for her alerting him that Matt was still around town.
