Y&R Headwriter Josh Griffith Teases Cane’s Huge Game Plan & His Plan To Win Lily Back

Headwriter Josh Griffith Teases Cane's Huge Game Plan & His Plan To Win Lily BackThe Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will stop at nothing to win Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) back and plot his revenge on The Great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). She Knows Soaps sat down with headwriter Josh Griffith to get the scoop on what’s ahead for Cane.

Griffith reveals that part of the reason Cane returned to Genoa City was to rekindle his romance with Lily. He considers her “the one that got away” and believes he can make things right this time.

Regarding Victor, Cane thinks he is two steps ahead of him. But as Griffith explained, “Victor never loses, and is always five steps ahead of everyone.”

Cane’s Plan To Win Lily Back

The Young and the Restless spoilers say that seeing Lily stirred up some feelings for Cane. He remembers the good times and wants them to get back to that.

But Lily isn’t interested in rekindling anything with him. She wants to move forward and not entertain taking any ex-lover/husband back.

Even though Lily seems confident in her decision to turn her back on Cane completely, her ex refuses to give up. He will likely use their children to manipulate Lily into giving their dad another chance.

Given the fact that Lily has said no to Cane and sounded like she meant it, it’s likely Ashby will double down and work harder to convince her he is a changed man. She could buy his changed act, which would only cause more heartbreak for her.

Cane’s Beef With Victor

The Young and the Restless headwriter explains that even though Cane has fought his way to Victor’s chessboard, he has a long way to winning the game.

Victor is on to him and may play with Cane to let him think he has an edge, but “Victor never loses. He may stumble. He may lose his way or feel powerless for a moment, but he always wins. In fact, Victor is five steps ahead, but Cane is so ego-driven he cannot see it yet.”

The showrunner continues, “Cane is sure that an attempt is about to be made on his life, but he isn’t necessarily the one who’ll be shipped back to the States from France in an urn.”

Cane will continue to rattle all the key players in Genoa City, hoping that it will blind Victor to his real game plan. However, Griffith teases that Victor has already figured out his end game and could be toying with Cane to force him to show his cards.
