The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is teased to become the Chief Executive Officer of Newman Enterprises. He is Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) second choice, but that does not matter to Adam.

Victor is outraged and disappointed in his firstborn child, recently admitting to Adam that he agrees with his earlier assessment of her. That was big news, as Adam has been waiting in the wings.

Ready to pounce on the power opportunity, Adam appears willing to believe that his reign will be different than Victoria’s. That hopeful bravado is surely not steeped in history or logic.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victoria Newman Not Allowed To Lead

Victoria projects the deepest set of skills in terms of being Newman Enterprises’ top boss. She has a breadth of experience that her siblings can not match.

Heinle’s character possesses a certain demeanor that allows her to accurately analyze business opportunities without needing to seek too much revenge against real or perceived enemies. She is better suited to be in charge than Adam.

However, Victoria has not been able to sustain employment with the family company through the years. Victor inevitably goes too far in exerting too much control, Victoria is unable to function normally and opts to leave.

Y&R Spoilers – Adam Newman Is Closest Personality Match

Adam is arguably, if not certainly, the closest personality match to Victor. Both men have a callous nature that involves putting themselves above anyone else.

Victor has long valued his youngest son’s so-called killed instinct. But the Moustache knows that Adam’s personality type, while good for building the business, is destructive on a personal basis.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) is too wise to allow herself to be the sole CEO, leaving Adam as Victor’s fallback option.

Victor’s childhood was disruptive. As many subsequent decades have demonstrated, he has been unable to project more than survival skills through adulthood.

Victoria is not a child and did not need her father to weigh on the Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) situation as it stands. Victoria’s love life is her business. And, as Victor’s half-billion payoff proved, Ashland is no longer connected to Newman Enterprises.

Adam stands as Victor’s only preferred option. But why would Adam believe this go-round will prove different than past periods of employment?
