Y&R Spoilers: Alum Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales) Lands Role In Major Horror Reboot

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that alumni Sasha Calle (Lola Rosales) is about to make another break onto the big screen!

If you’ve been following Calle since her days playing Lola Rosales on The Young and the Restless, you already knew she was going somewhere.

And now she’s officially landing a role in one of the most anticipated horror reboots in years, which is not a small deal.

Calle has been cast in Mike Flanagan’s upcoming reimagining of The Exorcist, set for a theatrical release on March 12, 2027.

The film is currently shooting in New York City and is a completely fresh take on the iconic franchise, not a sequel to 2023’s widely panned The Exorcist: Believer, but an all-new story built from the ground up within the original universe.

From Genoa City To The Big Screen

Calle joined The Young and the Restless back in 2018, playing Lola Rosales until 2021. Y&R fans who felt the show never quite gave her the material she deserved were probably not shocked when Hollywood came calling.

She made her big-screen breakthrough as Supergirl in The Flash, and most recently starred alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck in Netflix’s crime thriller The Rip, which has spent six weeks in Netflix’s global top 10. Not bad for a girl from Genoa City.

Calle’s role is being kept tightly under wraps, which is honestly just going to make fans more excited. What we do know is that she’ll be sharing the screen with Scarlett Johansson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Laurence Fishburne.

That is a stacked call sheet by any measure, and the fact that Calle is in that company says everything about how far she’s come.

A Journey Worth Watching

Calle has always been open about the fact that acting grabbed her and never let go. She came to Los Angeles originally to pursue music, but the moment the craft got its hooks in her, there was no going back. That kind of passion tends to translate on screen.

Y&R fans have had a lot of reasons to cheer for her over the years. This is just the biggest one yet.
