Ever since Chance returned from his mission he’s struggled to fit back into Abby Newman-Abbott-Chancellor’s (Melissa Ordway) pastel pretty world. Heck he was in a rugged outback, trying to rescue men and stay alive himself. The fact that the men were killed and he lived is cold consolation to him. Excessive guilt and PTSD had kept him from fully reintegrating back into the privileged life he once enjoyed.

Will he come to the decision that divorce is the best way to handle an awkward situation? If he feels he is no good as a dad and husband he could think that letting go is better for everyone.
Abby isn’t helping his guilt with that silly video diatribe she recorded whenever she wanted to cry, yell or give up because her husband was around to hold her hand and rub her feet.
Chance also feels bad about missing out on Dominic Newman-Abbott-Chancellor (Rainn and River Ware) early life when bonding has a window if attachment.

Chance is finding it hard to bond with Dominic, but Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) is in his face all the time demonstrating what a good bond he has with the baby. On top of that Devon wants shared custody, which could prove to be a major threat to Chance’s fragile psyche.

From where Chance is standing, Devon is the one who was there for Abby and Dominic while he was gone.
Explosive show spoilers reveal that Chance may react to his guilt, PTSD, and whatever else is going on with him by pulling away from Abby and Dominic. Maybe in his strained mind he thinks it would be better for all involved if he just left?

Divorce is not the answer. Think of all the service men and women who have PSTD. Writers get him some medical help.
Abby should NEVER of let Devon be her donor. She should of researched and picked a number. I agree this story is old and needs to move on. I have started fast forwarding thru these scences
