According to the Young and the Restless spoilers, Summer Newman (Alison Lanier) wants to make a peace offering with the Abbotts. Her marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is crumbling since she’s been covering for her mom Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford). Kyle wants nothing to do with her because of the fallout of Phyllis faking her death.
So, Summer is doing the next best thing to save her marriage. She’s making a peace offering with the Abbott family. One fan took to the Soap Central forums to share a theory. They feel that she’s on a mission to get them to side with her.
“I simply cannot watch Summer trying to talk to Kyle. Trying to make her way back into this War Zone. Kyle is sanctimonious and cold and unforgiving. His attitude is that his mother is important and hers is not. He thinks Phyllis should be locked up,” the user noted.
As a result, Summer is trying to be the peacemaker of the family. She hopes that she can bring both of their families together. Summer is also trying to get on good terms with Kyle’s mother Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters).

She’s desperately holding onto her marriage. However, it looks like Kyle has already checked out. He gives her a dirty look every time she walks into the room or is nice to Diane. Kyle feels that he can’t trust Summer any longer. However, she’s willing to make their marriage work.

Other fans don’t think it’ll work. Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) is trying to be the peacekeeper of the family and is doing it well by reminding her siblings of their father. Some fans have joked that he might haunt them into keeping the peace.
