The Young and the Restless spoilers are in for the week of January 5, 2026! Fans can expect to see what happens to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow).
Also, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) puts his hands around Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) throat. As for Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), he is encouraged to visit his dark side. Keep reading, and let’s talk about what is coming up in the CBS soap opera.
Victor Newman’s Chokehold
Let’s start off with Victor, who will get his hands on Matt, and we mean that literally! When Matt gets taken down by Newman’s security team, he gets a surprise.
When Matt makes a snarky comment about jail, that’s when Nick says prison is too good for him. Taken to a secure room, Matt is then choked by Victor!
Nick Newman’s Fate
However, things will take an interesting and wild turn. There is a spoiler that states Nick gets in the driver’s seat. Even though I had mentioned that in another post, I didn’t actually expect it to happen! Nick takes control of the car but there is a problem.
Matt waits until Nick takes his eyes off the backview mirror for one moment. In that instant, Matt starts choking Nick as he’s driving!
Judging by how Nick is gripping the wheel and curving his body at an angle, it seems he’s going to crash on purpose. So, what will be Nick and Matt’s fates?
Cane Ashby’s Dark Side
The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Cane was determined to show he’s a changed man. However, each time he gets close to proving that to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), something happens.
After Cane gets blasted and rejected by Lily once again, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) comes back into the tycoon’s orbit. The redhead tries to encourage Cane to visit his dark side.
Phyllis Summers’ Interrogation
A bit later, Phyllis grills Daniel Romalotti, Jr. (Michael Grazaidei) about Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks). Daniel is a grown man who can make his own decisions. However, the redhead might worry that her son will just end up with a broken heart.
What Else to Expect
Fans can also expect Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to conspire with Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc). Meanwhile, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) continues defending Nikki, which just infuriates Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters).
There is also Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor), who shares intel with Jack and Diane. The young man reports to his parents about Victor’s battle with Matt!
Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) agree to a fresh start. What does that mean for Holden’s dynamic with Claire Grace Newman (Hayley Erin)?
Which storyline are you looking forward to seeing the most during the week of January 5, 2025?

Please don’t let Phyllis and Billy get away with anything. They are both idiots and it’s about time they get the short end of the stick. They’re nothing but trouble. Especially Phyllis.
