Victor wonders if having Adam on his team means Jack will reignite the Newman-Abbott war, since Adam is not fully on Victor’s side.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The War Went On For Years

The war between the Abbotts and the Newmans actually didn’t start with Jack and Victor, it started with John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and Victor. It never was a personal war but more like a war of driven business personalities, John and Victor being pretty evenly matched. They would always try to outdo each other but sometimes in underhanded ways, Victor especially trying to undermine projects John was trying to promote.

But when Jack got old enough to compete in the business world, his and Victor’s feud began and often spilled over into their personal lives. For instance, both men have been married to Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott).

Y & R Spoilers – Newman Business Secrets Shared?

Victor wonders if Jack hired Adam because some Newman business secrets might be shared; he knows that of all his children and grandchildren, Adam would be most prone to do so. But with so much interrelationship and intermarriage of Newmans to Abbotts, Jack finds that accusation ridiculous, and it went on for years. It started with Jack marrying Nikki and Victor having an affair with Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson). Now the current generation of Abbott-Newman interrelationships and intermarriages include Jack’s son Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Victor’s granddaughter Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier). Victor’s grandson Noah Newman (Rory Gibson) is in a rapidly heating up relationship with Jack’s granddaughter Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang) as well.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman Is Accepted

Much of what it all boils down to is simply that Kyle went to work with Summer and Jack needed a co-CEO for Jabot; Adam was available and he’s accepted by Jack. Adam can’t say the same for his on again off again acceptance by Victor, his own father. Jack has always believed in Adam, even when he was having problems, and always tried to encourage him to stay on the straight and narrow when he could.

Jack is so over business feuds and drama with Victor; he simply hired Adam because he needed an employee and Adam needed a job. He felt that Adam was a good fit and feels he’ll do well; Victor can be suspicious if he wants.
