1883 is a spinoff of the Paramount Network’s popular series, Yellowstone and it looks to be an equally successful creation of Talor Sheridan. The new western drama series follows the Dutton family prior to arriving in Montana as they slowly work their way across the Midwest plains of America.
Yellowstone, which started its popular four-season run in 2018, follows the modern-day Dutton family as they try to hold on to their beautiful, sprawling Montana ranch fending off those who long to take it from them.

The new prequel, 1883, follows John Dutton’s grandfather, James Dutton, played by Tim McGraw, and his wife, Margaret (Faith Hill) as they try to navigate the untamed wilderness of the American Midwest.
