One of the biggest shows on TV is about to end and we’re all bittersweet about it. As we wait patiently for it to happen, here’s what we can look forward to.

When Kevin Costner announced that he was leaving the series that kept him one of the highest paid actors in the industry, anyone could guess that it would more or less affect the show in very significant ways.

Sadly, it sped the film to an early grave, though if you ask Kevin Costner, his exit had nothing to do with the show ending in its fifth season.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Taylor Sheridan seemed to hint that Costner’s exit affected the length of the show. He said: “I’m disappointed. It truncates the closure of his character. It doesn’t alter it, but it truncates it.”

Costner also recently shared a statement revealing that his ‘Yellowstone’ character, patriarch John Dutton, won’t be returning. “Hi everyone,” Costner said in the video message. “I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone, that beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5B or into the future.

Before anyone goes blaming Costner for exiting the show prematurely, the actor actually defended his actions in an interview with GQ in May.

He explained that ‘Yellowstone’ filming delays was interfering with his filming schedule for his passion project, western drama ‘Horizon: An American Saga.’

Per Costner, he told showrunner Sheridan about it: “I said, ‘Well, if you want to kill me, if you want to do something like that,’ I said, ‘I have a week before I start [shooting Horizon], I’ll do what you want to do.'”

With that drama now behind us, we can start preparing our minds to receive the final episodes from the hit series.

On Sunday, Nov. 10, the second part of the show will start unveiling. However, as one story ends, another begins, and in ‘Yellowstone’s’ case, it couldn’t be more true.

After bringing country stars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill to lead ‘Yellowstone: 1883,’ the newest spinoff, ‘The Madison,’ will be based around a landscape that fans are more familiar with: present day.
