American Idol – Noah Thompson Believes The Song Represents Him
American Idol contestant, Noah Thompson explained to Rexha that he believes “Blue Side Of The Mountain” does a really good job at representing him. Thompson admits that the song is for his hometown but his family as well. Thompson has a nine-month-old son whom he wants to be able to provide a better life for. Thompson’s son is his inspiration and he doesn’t want to struggle to support him. Rexha offered Thompson some sound advice, “Connecting with the crowd and giving them eye contact, even the camera, cause people wanna see your eyes.” Thompson took the advice to heart adding it to his raspy voice and his guitar music to wow the judges.

American Idol judge Katy Perry teased, “That was more of a howdy than a Aloha!”
Followed by Luke Bryan who said, “There’s a sweet spot in your voice that when you start really, really recognizing it, you might win the whole competition.”
Lionel Richie offered words of encouragement for Thompson to overcome his shyness, saying, “Every time you walk on the stage, walk out there with some big boots.”
Noah didn’t enter himself into this contest, instead, his friend sent in a tape because he believes in Noah’s talent. However, Noah is certainly making his hometown proud.

American Idol’s Thompson showed up for the auditions almost in awe. Thompson’s friend had submitted a tape and he was shocked to get a ticket to Hollywood. Thompson looks to the future with his son in every performance. Thompson is a construction worker by trade but often posts music videos online. Thompson’s voice was just too good for the hills of Kentucky and Arthur Johnson was determined to help. Thompson sent in an audition tape and Noah’s life has been a whirlwind since. The Sunday, April 17 show will reveal which contestants will be in the final 20. Will Thompson make the cut?
Luke Bryan’s rave reviews seem to suggest that Thompson will be around for a while. Will the young man from Kentucky take the competition? His fans back home sure hope so.
