Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 3 aired on CBS this week and Frank (Tom Selleck) mourned the loss of his best friend and ex-partner Lenny Ross (Treat Williams), while trying to help his daughter who had found herself in a legal jam. Lenny had appeared on multiple episodes over the past five years.

On Friday’s Blue Bloods episode it was revealed that Lenny had died from cancer. It was believed that Treat Williams would become a fixture on the series before he was killed in a motorcycle accident last June.
Tom Selleck and Treat Williams were actually good friends in real life. Last Spring when Treat passed away unexpectedly, Selleck released an emotional statement via People Magazine.
The Blue Bloods actor stated, “It has been said that we are all just passing time and occupy our chair very briefly. My friend Treat was aptly named and occupied his chair so well. I will miss him but I will not forget him. Well done, my friend.”
