Blue Bloods Spoilers – There Is Always The Family Dinner Every Friday Night

Even though the traditional Reagan combined family dinner may actually be on Sundays, of course Blue Bloods viewers see it every Friday night on the show. Everyone is there – Grandpa Henry Reagan (Len Cariou) is always at the head of the table, and more often than not cooks the meal now that Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) is a widower, then Danny’s two sons are usually there, Jaime Reagan (Will Estes) and his former NYPD partner now wife Eddie Janko Reagan (Vanessa Ray), Commissioner Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) and of course Erin Reagan and her daughter Nicky Reagan (Sami Gayle). Each of the Reagans work a different job, but all pertaining to law enforcement.

Nicky and her cousins are of course still in school, Jamie and Danny are cops, and Erin works in the District Attorney’s office. They are usually scattered about each in their separate storylines, but one standard every episode is the family dinner! Bridget has frequently been asked about the family dinners and different questions concerning them, including the quality of the food served.

The Blue Bloods family dinner is fans’ favorite part of the show, likely reflecting the desire to go back to the good old days when every extended family had family dinner together to catch up with each other and reconnect. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen much these days, and especially not with all different generations.

Blue Bloods Spoilers – While Bridget Moynahan Doesn’t Necessarily Dislike The Family Dinner, It Has Not Always Liked Her!

Bridget doesn’t necessarily dislike the family dinner scenes, but the dinner contents themselves, have not always liked her, so to speak. Bridget did a recent interview with “Pop Culture” where she talked about the family dinners. Overall, she feels that the family dinners are among some of the best scenes and moments in the series.

It seems to give continuity to the program and something stable to look forward to for the Blue Bloods viewers in these days of actors coming, actors going, erratic broadcast schedules, and on and on and on. The problems Bridget has run into is the food itself at times. Every bite of the food that the Reagans are shown consuming is the real thing, but according to her, the quality is not all that great!

Sometimes it has tasted downright terrible and given her gastrointestinal problems. Once she was asked to eat only green beans. But she had to eat them the whole time the scene was filmed, which took over a total of four hours! One can only imagine the effects of that! But it’s in the script that a happy family happily consumes the meal, and portraying the enjoyment of the food consumed is part of the effect! It’s far from gourmet, due to budget constraints and time spent getting food to the table in a hurry. But then what real family eats gourmet food all the time unless it’s the family of a chef?
