Blue Bloods Spoilers – Every Primetime Show Has A Short Season
As all television viewers know, every primetime show has a short season this year because of the shortened filming season due to the coronavirus pandemic, with studios being shut down. This season of Blue Bloods, which is season eleven, premiered on December 4, 2020 with an episode called “Triumph Over Trauma”.
Detectives Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) were trying to find a killer. They were trapped in a basement, and Jamie Reagan (Will Estes) and newfound Reagan relative Joe Hill (Will Hochman) were on a mission to find them.
They were successful, and Danny and Maria made it home safe. Joe, who was a newly revealed son of the late oldest brother Joe Reagan, (mentioned character) distanced himself a bit from his newfound family and decided to take a break from work and weekly dinners, although he had been invited by Jamie and certainly welcomed. Fans found that a little peculiar, but Joe had found himself being treated differently than previously because people found out he was the grandson of Police Commissioner Frank Reagan, (Tom Selleck) and cousin to Jamie and Danny, and he didn’t want to be treated differently so he distanced himself.
More of Joe’s story may play out, but considering both seasons ten and eleven are shortened, fans may have to wait until season twelve. As for season eleven, there will be a two-hour season finale on May 14.
Blue Bloods Spoilers – The Synopsis Of The Finale Has Not Yet Been Released
As of this writing, the synopsis, or details of the finale have not yet been released nor have any spoilers or teasers. The show will come on at 9:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time instead of the usual 10:00 pm to allow for the two hours. Fans hope to see more of Joe Hill, but nothing has been indicated yet. Blue Bloods’ executive producer, Kevin Wade told Deadline’s Dominic Patten that they do hope to tell more of Joe Hill’s story further on in the season, but they have a very large ensemble cast and have a lot of actors to serve who have been on the show for all eleven years.
Shows are only renewed for one season at a time now, and there still hasn’t been an official renewal announcement for Blue Bloods. What we do know is that it looks like there is a lot more story to tell. For one, Danny has grown a lot since he lost his wife Linda Reagan (Amy Carlson) unexpectedly in a helicopter crash. He may be ready to put himself out there again and start dating, although he hasn’t made any first steps.
The family still needs to convince Joe to join their family more fully, so there can be a new family dynamic at both work and at the dinner table. All the stars of the show have said they want Blue Bloods to continue. Hopefully for them and for fans, they will get their wish.
