The character of Senior Detective Anthony Abetemarco has been featured since season six of the show, often acting as a private investigator to Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan. In other words, he’s her Paul Burke to her Perry Mason. Steve Schirripa, who plays the part of Anthony, was only supposed to appear for a few episodes, but he is a friend of Bridget Moynahan in real life and because of this connection to Bridget, he became a recurring character. As of this writing, he has logged over seventy episodes in the past five seasons. He has been enjoying a bigger and bigger role in the series, appearing in nearly every episode for a while – until episode five of the current season, which is season eleven!

Anthony will be featured again in at least two upcoming episodes, and since he has not appeared in every single episode due to storyline reasons, there is nothing to worry about. Blue Bloods Spoilers – Fans Want To See Senior Detective Anthony Abetemarco In More Episodes

It is also a good thing for an actor and the character he plays that fans want to see him more often. The more fans who watch, the better the ratings are for the given show. Fans would like to see Anthony featured in more episodes this season, for instance maybe involving him in a longer term case that needs investigation. It could even be a cold case, something that he may remember but that has never been fully solved. That could pile up to a lot of case files to go through and therefore a lot of scenes for the good detective. Maybe he could work on a case with Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) and his partner Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez). Marisa did mention in a recent interview that she would love to work with Steve Schirripa more often.

They are set to have some scenes together in upcoming episodes; so that will give Senior Detective Abetemarco more work with the other detectives on the force. In past seasons, some of Anthony’s family members have made an appearance. Last season his brother, a former mobster, worked with him to catch a perpetrator and their mother was in episodes during season six and season nine. Sometimes fans see his ex-wife and daughter, and perhaps that will be a more common occurrence in season eleven and in the future, as well as revealing maybe more family members. His family and he are a contrast to the Reagans, and it would be interesting to fans to find out more about Anthony’s past and what makes him tick!
