Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Reboot Update Comes From Shocking Source Dolly Parton

Fans of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series might be surprised that Dolly Parton was an uncredited producer of that series through her production company Sandollar Productions. When asked about the possibility of a reboot, Parton had a surprising update for fans.

During a new interview with Business Insider posted on January 24th, Parton revealed that work is still being done on a possible reboot of the series, saying “They’re thinking about bringing it back and revamping it.” This would be welcome news to the many fans of the series.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer – Dolly Parton was very involved with the original series

The country legend revealed that she was quite involved with the production of the original series, although she downplayed taking credit for its success by saying that many people were involved in making the show as good as it was.

Original Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar, confirmed in an interview with Jimmy Fallon that Parton was indeed a producer on the show, although she never met the icon.

Gellar also admitted that she doesn’t thing that Buffy needs to be rebooted although she is complete for continuing the story because it’s about female empowerment.

Gellar stated that she isn’t a good fit for the story any longer because she isn’t an adolescent. But that doesn’t mean a new story couldn’t begin about a new slayer. The original series lasted for seven seasons but there could always be more story to tell.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer – Much of the cast has already reunited!

Last year, former star James Marsters teamed with other former castmates such as Anthony Head, Charisma Carpenter, Juliet Landau, Emma Caulfield, Amber Benson, James Charles Leary and Danny Strong for an Audible series set after the events of the original Buffy series titled Slayers: A Buffyverse Story, which introduced a new slayer named Indira. It’s not clear if this is in any way connected to the potential new television series.
