Bull Season 6 Spoilers – How Benny Colón Was Written Out Of Bull
Bull Season 6 just premiered and Freddy Rodriguez is out. How exactly did they write Benny Colón out of Bull? He was a major part of the storyline, firmer Jason Bull brother-in-law, running for office, leaving TAC, dropping the election, returning to TAC. In addition, we cannot forget his entertaining ways of defense.
In the Bull Season 6 premiere, the gang was at a karaoke bar. In the first mention of Bennie, Chunk said he wished Benny could be there with him.
Izzy succinctly surmised, “Benny is blissfully happy in Rome singing ‘Mi amore’ to his Italian bride.” Turns out, Benny met and married his lady love in a mere 30 days.
The ever-wise Jason Bull said, “True love won’t be denied.”
Could Freddy Rodriguez come back? That is very possible. They seemed to take a cue from Hallmark, in the Lori Loughlin When Calls The Heart character write-out, sending her away and allowing for a possible return.
Could we see the return of Benny Colón to Bull? That remains to be seen.
Bull Season 6 Spoilers – Why Was Freddy Rodriguez Removed From CBS Show?
One of the big questions is why actor Freddy Rodriguez and showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron were removed in the first place? According to The Hollywood Reporter, this all occurred after a workplace investigation.
Turns out, at the end of Season 5 filming, there were “multiple departures” of writing staff. This lead to CBS Studios launching an investigation as to why there was such a mass exodus. However, after the actor and showrunner were removed from the series, CBS did not share any information.
But, the publication shared some information from a confidential source. It appears that the writers felt that they were in fear of their careers based on the sort of environment that Caron had on the set. “Everyone was so on edge — it felt like everyone constantly had, at the very least, a lot of anxiety.”
Caron, who was known for Medium and Moonlighting, has been often accused of putting pressure on the writers and “yelling.”
Now, Bull writers Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard are the new co-showrunners. Will this be a positive change? A former Bull writer seemed to hope more than feel assured that things have really changed behind the scenes. Their comment “I really hope they get a fair shot to succeed,” revealed some doubt.
Bull Season 6 Spoilers – Not The First Bull Controversy
Perhaps those behind-the-scenes at Bull are wary of promises? Although Freddy Rodriguez has not said anything, nor has showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron, Bull has had a history of issues.
In 2018, CBS paid out a $9.5 million settlement to Eliza Dashku. Dashku had reportedly confronted Michael Weatherly over his alleged treatment. There was a belief that she would play Bull’s main love interest.
However, Dashku alleged in an op-ed piece that Glenn Gordon Caron immediately wrote her out of the show after she complained about the former NCIS star.
In 2019, Kelly Kahl, CBS Entertainment president shared that both Weatherly and Caron received “leadership training.” Kahl cited that over 10 million people watch Bull each week, and continued to do so after the Eliza Dashku report. “So it’s a popular show that we want to keep on our air.”
Bull Season 6 can now be seen on Thursday nights on CBS.
