Jon-Michael Ecker: Who Is The Chicago Fire Actor?

Chicago Fire spoilers tease that things have been getting hot in more ways than one at Firehouse 51 since the new Lieutenant, Greg Grainger (Jon-Michael Ecker) came to Chicago Fire! Here’s a little more about the actor as well as a little catch-up on how he’s been shaking things up.

Chicago Fire Spoilers – Greg Grainger Has Been Flirting With Sylvie Brett Right In Front Of Matt Casey

Chicago Fire viewers will remember that the new fireman, Greg Grainger has been flirting with Paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) ever since he arrived. He has even made it clear he wants a relationship with the pretty blonde right in front of Captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer), who can’t quite get his fire horse out of the stall, so to speak, when it comes to telling Sylvie how he feels about her. He hasn’t quite been able to get past his divorce from Gabby Dawson (Monica Raymund) and the realization that Gabby and Sylvie were best friends kind of puts a damper on things. But Matt is starting to lose his cool with Grainger, because he is strutting his stuff like a peacock to Sylvie right in front of Matt’s face.

The Chicago Fire rivalry is starting to heat up and the testosterone is about to boil over between the two men! Grainger first arrived at the station during season nine, specifically in episode four, titled “Funny What Things Remind Us.” Grainger was out of a different firehouse at the time, and his team had come to assist on a call where a woman had been pinned inside her car by a large sign.

However, everything was under control by the time Grainger and his team arrived. He stayed around to help block traffic and Sylvie caught his eye – he started to make small talk with her and then got downright flirtatious! Later, he made his first move on Sylvie but Matt got upset. Grainger came to help out while Christopher Hermann (David Eigenberg) was away and Matt made his life difficult the whole time he was there, taking out his frustrations on him. Grainger confronted Matt about his bad behavior, but it looks like the rivalry is still going strong over Sylvie!

The actor who is playing Greg Grainger is Jon-Michael Ecker. One of his first acting roles was in an episode of “The Power Of Destiny” in 2011. Ecker has also appeared in a Colombian drama called “Popland” which is where he got his first big break in the acting business. He also played Pablo Peralta in the series “Fearless Heart” from 2012 to 2013. Jon-Michael Ecker played Nicolas “Nico” de la Vega for twenty-six episodes of “Gossip Girl: Acapulco” in 2013.

He has also been in films, notably in the movie “Catinflas” in 2014. From 2015 to 2016 he played the Lion in “Narcos”, and he has also appeared in “Queen of The South” and also “Firefly Lane”. It looks like Ecker will be pretty busy this year, in addition to appearing in “Chicago Fire” he will also be working on two other projects, “Listless” and a made for television movie called “For Love”. In the meantime, be watching him make Casey’s life difficult by making him squirm while he attempts to romance Sylvie Brett in front of Casey!
