Corbin Bernsen will reprise his role as Arnie Becker in ABCs L.A. Law pilot. Bernsen and Blair Underwood, (Jonathan Rollins) are believed to be the only original cast members to be cast in a sequel pilot as well.
L.A.Law Gets A Reboot
L.A. Law was a very popular series in the 1980s that ran for 8 seasons. Corbin is one of the actors who appeared in the original series pilot as well. ABC picked up the series reboot in October and suggest that there will be many other guest actors as well. The pilot is penned by Marc Guggenheim and Ubah Mohamed and directed by Anthony Hemingway.
The series focuses on changes in the Becker Rollins firm, once known as Mckenzie Brackman. The firm’s main focus is high-profile, boundary-pushing cases. Unfortunately, Becker hasn’t changed with the times and struggles to deal with the changes going on around him. Bernsen says “I’ve often thought about revisiting LA Law and Arnie Becker over the years. Now seems the perfect moment in time to explore our fast-changing world through Becker’s eyes. Fasten your seatbelts.”
L.A.Law – Corbin Bernsen Is No Stranger To TV Or Soaps
Corbin Bernsen is no stranger to Tv. Bernsen’s mother was Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine Chancellor, The Young And The Restless). Bernsen grew up around the business and eventually joined it himself. Bernsen has had roles on General Hospital, as John Durant. John was a Prosecuting Attorney whose daughter was married to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Port Charles’ mob kingpin. Durant wanted to connect with his daughter and that may have worked out if he hadn’t gone after her husband in the process.
Targetting Sonny was the one thing that kept Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and her father from having a meaningful relationship. Durant tried to control her by having her put into a mental institution ending any hope for a relationship between them. Bernsen has also had frequent appearances on The Young And The Restless as Father Todd Williams as well.

L.A.Law – A Network Change
L.A. Law originally ran on NBC and lasted from 1986 to 1994. The reboot can be seen on ABC. The new show has a great set of producers such as Underwood, Hemingway (via Anthony Hemingway Productions), Guggenheim, Mohamed, and Dayna Bochco, and Jesse Bochco (via Steven Bochco Productions). Hopefully, the reboot will have the same success as the original series which won 15 Emmys throughout its run, including four for Outstanding Drama Series.
L.A. Law Fans are encouraged to check out the new series and see what they have in store.
