Find out about the new Harry Potter TV series. And learn how Daniel feels about the possibility of taking on the title role. Get all the details below.
Daniel Radcliffe – Dishes On New Harry Potter TV Series
Harry Potter fans might assume that Daniel Radcliffe will star in the new TV series. But the actor, 33, seemed hesitant to make any predictions about the cast. Headed for Max, the new Harry Potter TV series will adapt J.K. Rowling’s seven novels. But the movie franchise that featured Daniel in the title role won’t necessarily determine the cast of the new TV series. For instance, look for new actors in the roles once made famous by Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, according to People.
“My understanding is that they’re trying to very much start fresh,” said Daniel. “And I’m sure whoever is making them will want to make their own mark on it,” he added about the Harry Potter TV series. As a result, the actor modestly predicted that the casting director would “probably not want to have to figure out how to get old Harry to cameo in this somewhere.”
However, Radcliffe also clarified if he wants a role. And he noted, “I’m definitely not seeking it out in any way. But I do wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world,” shared the actor. “And I’m very excited to have that torch passed. But I don’t think it needs me to physically pass it.”

Harry Potter – TV Series Plans To Stay ‘Faithful’ To Books
In revealing the plans to adapt the original Harry Potter books, Warner Bros. Discovery promised that the new streaming series on Max will offer a “faithful adaptation.” And the studio revealed that each season will cover a single book. To help ensure that continuity, Rowling will get involved as an executive producer.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to discover Hogwarts in a whole new way,” said HBO and Max CEO and chairman Casey Bloys. “Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon,” pointed out Bloys. “And it is clear there is such an enduring love and thirst for the Wizarding World. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and J.K. Rowling, this new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all of these years.”
As for Radcliffe, the actor has filled the 10 years since he last portrayed Harry Potter with theater productions as well as films. In addition, Daniel stars in TBS’ Miracle Workers. On July 10, it returns for its fourth season, titled Miracle Workers: End Times. However, Radcliffe took some time off after he welcomed his first child in April with girlfriend Erin Drake.
