Delilah Season 2: Will OWN Cancel New TV Show

Following the Delilah season one finale, one is left to wonder what the second season would look like. There is no word as to whether the executive producers would be releasing a second season or not. From all indications, that’s something that the OWN network may take their time on deciding, especially when you look at the ratings.

Is Delilah Season 2 Happening?

One thing we were 100% sure of when Delilah started airing was that there was going to be a second season. However, the tune of the song is changing and there is nothing more frustrating than end-viewers getting zero answers from the crew members and executive producers. Well, we believe that the future of Delilah is something that OWN will likely spend a lot of time pondering about, and it could go either way at the end of the day.

About The OWN Series

The first season of the series started airing on the OWN cable channel.  And, it revolved around Delilah Connolly (Hill) – a headstrong and highly principled lawyer who lives in Charlotte, North Carolina. She left a demanding white-shoe law firm ten years ago and hung up her shingle so she could make raising her kids her top priority.

At the moment, she takes on cases the big firms ignore and finds herself oftentimes going head-to-head with the powerful and privileged as she fights for the disenfranchised. In addition to raising her two kids, Maia (Jacobs) and Marcus (Rankins), Delilah also cares for her young nephew Dion (Johnson) and manages her relationship with her frustrating ex (Lyriq Bent).

At work, she has the support of her new and ambitious assistant, Demetria Barnes, (Heyward) and Harper Omereoha (Akagha) Delilah’s unfailingly sunny secretary. As the series begins, Delilah’s about to go up against her best friend, Tamara Grayson (Jones) in court for the first time. Delilah has always represented the underdogs while Tamara has always represented the wealthy and powerful.

Will OWN give Delilah a second season?  Giving a sincere answer from our end, we can say that it depends mostly on a couple of factors.  Will OWN believe that viewers will find the show over the next few months? The probability of getting a positive response to this question is uncertain since there’s a chance they don’t and the ratings, on the other hand, are not seeing any improvement.

Nevertheless, we should bring this to our consciousness that entertainment most times can be risky. So, you wouldn’t want to blame the executive producers of the series to want to stand firm behind their properties; after all, everyone is toiling day and night to find long-term success for their handiwork.

Fans of the show think if the series was performing considerably better in any of its ratings, then there are still possibilities that Delilah will come back not just for a second time but for more seasons shortly.
