‘Dexter: New Blood’ Filming Location Fred’s Fish And Game Invited Locals To Shop

Dexter“Dexter: New Blood” made their way to a tiny and snowy community in Iron Lake, New York, and the crew created its iconic Fred’s Fish and Game which made the residents interested to shop in.

Though it was said that the series was filmed in New York, they actually made their scenes in the little town of Western Massachusetts, which ended up as their perfect location.

The executive producer, Scott Reynolds expressed his thoughts on “Dexter: New Blood Wrap-Up” podcast regarding their location: “I remember being stuck by Shelburne Falls – perfect small town, it’s quaint, it’s kind of sweet, it’s cold for sure.”

Dexter: New Blood Spoilers – Filming Has Started

Another executive producer, Clyde Phillips also shared that they have started filming at the beginning of February and took advantage of the snow, which also made the frozen lake real.

Production designer Eric Weiler got creative on Dexter’s new job at Fred’s Fish and Game. He completely turned a clothing store into something new. “We completely emptied the whole place, nothing left, painted everything, we put a mural on the wall, we changed all the light fixtures, we painted the metal ceiling, we added textured ceiling to make it look old-fashioned. It came out really well,” Weiler said.

It seemed like the place turned out great that it invited some locals of Shelburne Falls to shop on the film set. Scott Reynolds shared his funny experience with the residents who were too excited about the new store and wanted to shop.

“They also wanted to go shopping in Fred’s. Like it looked so much like this great fish and sports store that we had to put sign up being like, ‘This is not a working store. You cannot come inside,” Reynolds told the podcast. He also commended the great place and friendly people in their location.

Dexter: New Blood Spoilers – Screen Title Gets Bloody

Back in 2013, “Dexter” received a lot of criticism from fans when it ended. Michael C. Hall, the actor who plays Dexter, thought of it as a “silver lining” for him to repeat his role for “New Blood.”

Now that “Dexter: New Blood” has started, it gained a lot of positive feedback online and even got a 72% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.

For its new logo, a bloody detail was in Dexter’s name signifying that the main character will be back on his old life again as a serial killer. As killing is the theme of the show, the production revealed that the title screen will get bloodier every time as the story goes.
