Jake became very upset when he heard Vince Leone (Bill Burke) tell Bode to stay out of trouble because the fire house would be his in a few years. Jake feels that he should be the one who takes over since he was there when Bode was in prison.
Jake Crawford Took Bode’s Place In His Family
Let’s be honest, Jake has worked with Vince the whole time Bode was in prison. Jake pretty much took over as Vince’s son while Bode was gone.
However, Jake was the reason that Vince’s daughter died and Bode got the blame for it all. Bode’s father even told him to leave town and not come back and Bode did just that.
Jake had been seeing Bode Leone’s little sister and she caught him cheating. Bode’s sister was killed when she tried to jump out of a vehicle to get back to Jake causing Bode to wreck.
Vince blamed Bode, not knowing what actually happened and it took years for him to forgive Bode after telling him to leave town. Jake was there to play the good son all of that time.

Bode Leone Always Wanted To Work With His Father
Bode has wanted to work with his father since he was a kid. However, when Bode was placed at Three Rock, he didn’t want to go because of the proximity to his parents and his home town.
Unfortunately, Bode could not get transferred to another fire camp and ended up being sent there anyway.
As much as Bode wanted to work with his dad, Bode didn’t want him to know he had returned after their falling out. Bode would have rather not seen either of his parents at the time.
That ended up changing and after being sent back to prison, Bode returned to Three Rock and was eventually released and given a spot with his dad.

Does Jake Crawford Have A Reason To Be Jealous?
Bode ended up with Jake’s former girlfriend, Gabriela Perez (Stephanie Arcila) which was another sore spot. However, Jake and Bode eventually made up and are back to being good friends now.
That doesn’t mean that Jake doesn’t want the fire station still. Will Bode end up with that station or will Jake get it after all?
Will Jake get past his jealousy and remain friends with Bode or is this going to be yet another thing to come between the friends?
There is room for both of them at the fire station, Jake just needs to calm down and stop rushing things. Will Jake and Bode find a way to coexist or will their friendship be permanently damaged?
