Fire Country spoilers ask, what could be better than Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) returning after a two week break? How about Bode opposite Jelly Roll (Jason Bradley DeFord)? In the past few years, Jelly Roll has become a music sensation as a rapper, musician, and songwriter. However, now he is about to make this acting debut as well in the CBS drama.
Jelly Roll Has Appeared On TV Before
This isn’t the first time that Jelly Roll has been on tv. Jelly Roll has been a performer since 2003.
However, the 2020s are responsible for his rise to fame. Jelly Roll has expanded into more than just rap as he has also hit the country music charts with songs like “Save Me” and “Need A Favor.” He has also made tv appearances on shows such as Saturday Night Live.
On April 11, 2025, as shared by Us Weekly, Jelly Roll will make his first scripted debut in Fire Country. Jelly Roll will be playing a man named Noah, who is a healthcare worker.
Noah is trying to turn his life around. The storyline involves a malfunctioning chair lift at a ski resort that ultimately leads to an accident.
Noah is having guilt issues because he was in prison when he mother passed away and he wasn’t allowed to go there to say goodbye.
According to the synopsis, “Now, he works with patients like his mom, and their loved ones who struggle with saying their own goodbyes.” This is the first time that Jelly Roll is appearing on tv as a scripted character and not as himself.
Other Musicians Have Gotten Their First Acting Role On Fire Country
Fire Country premiered in 2022 and is a story about a man working his way back home through redemption. The series follows Bode as he transfers from prison to the California Conservation Camp Program.
Bode reconnects with important people from his past as he works toward a job as a firefighter at his grandfather’s old station which is parents are working at now.
The show often brings on guest stars even if they aren’t particularly know for acting. Country music singer Kane Brown was among the first who appeared in Season one.
Brown was a train hopper named Robin who helped Bode extract victims out of a bus that was hit by the train and then disappeared before the cops arrived.
Max Thieriot Enjoys Working With New People
Thieriot, who has teased about working with new faces during season 3, said in 2024, “In a lot of ways, season 3 is so new for me because I’ve been able to act in all these spaces and interact with so many different characters on the show. It was fairly limited before [because of Bode’s incarceration.]”
Max also shared, “This season is really about Bode trying to accomplish [his legacy as a firefighter] and what the hurdles are that are in his way and what obstacles he might face along the way.
There’s also just the dynamics of a lot of different relationships that he’s involved with now that he is outside. There are none of the restrictions of camp or prison; it is just what happens to this guy now that he’s free.”
