But Stamos also revealed how the death of TV patriarch Bob Saget changed the Full House stars’ relationships. Keep reading to learn what he shared about Saget, Loughlin, and even his former enemies, twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen!
Full House Spoilers – John Stamos And Lori Loughlin Nearly Dated?!
All about the chemistry. John Stamos teased that he and his Full House co-star Lori Loughlin almost dated. And the Full House alum, 60, confessed that he and Lori, 59, felt on the “precipice of turning romantic” via People.
However, Stamos felt that he and Loughlin experienced a “sort of true friendship that’s supposed to be the foundation of a great, lasting relationship.” But when the two Full House stars went to the 1994 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show after party, John met Rebecca Romijn.
And he recognized he needed to choose. Should he follow through with romancing Lori? Or begin a romance with Rebecca? “In my mind it was like … the two Sandys in Grease!” confessed Stamos. But he decided on Romijn, now 50.
And the actor dated the model, eventually tying the knot in September 1998. However, their marriage lasted only six years. And they divorced in 2004.
But John has defended Lori in the wake of the 2019 college admissions scandal. And he noted, “We all make mistakes. Some are big, some are smaller. But it’s how you take responsibility for it. She handled it better than most.”
Full House Spoilers – Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen Apologize
Meanwhile, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have improved their relationships with their Full House co-stars. Because the Olsen twins opted out of Netflix’s Full House spin-off, Fuller House, some of the cast felt annoyed, reported the Post.
As a result, the spin-off even contained jokes about Mary-Kate and Ashley, 37. But the twins decided to exit their acting careers. And the duo founded two fashion brands. They created the Row in 2006 and Elizabeth and James in 2007.
However, John Stamos shared that Mary-Kate and Ashley reconciled with the cast after the death of their TV patriarch Bob Saget. He tragically died at age 65 in January 2022.
And Stamos gushed about Mary-Kate and Ashley. “I love them dearly and they’ve done so well. I’m so proud of them. When Bob passed away, they came,” he recalled. “And they were so kind.”
Full House Spoilers – Bob Saget’s Death Divided Cast
However, Stamos shared that since the sudden death of Bob Saget, the cast has become adrift. And the actor explained via OK, “Bob was the glue to all of us. Even the year and a half that he’s been gone, we [the Full House cast] haven’t gotten together as much.”
But after Saget’s death, the Full House cast gathered to pay tribute in the memorial service for their TV patriarch. And Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Lori Loughlin, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen all reunited, recalled John.
But he felt especially moved to see the Olsen twins. “When Bob died, they came back. Oh my god. It was so beautiful,” Stamos shared. “They said things to us that meant so much to all of us. That they loved their childhood. That we were such a big part of their lives, and that they are who they are because of their upbringing on the show.”
