Grey’s Anatomy Spoilers: Will Andrew DeLuca Return As The Doctors Mourn Loss Of One Of Their Own

Grey’s Anatomy During a Good Morning America show, Giacomo Gianniotti, who played the character of Dr. DeLuca, said that it was possible that the fans have not seen the last of his beloved character. A character he said was the best he’s ever played, also adding that he was happy to have been the one to bring the character to live.

The newest episode of the show portrays the hospital in a somber and grey light as the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial tried to cope with the loss of one of their beloved doctors, Dr. Andrew DeLuca, who died at the operating table after getting wounded by a sex trafficker he tried to expose. It was a dreadful moment for the fans of the show, and according to a statement released by the writers of the show, for them as well.

Meanwhile, Meredith may finally be leaving the worst of her COVID days behind her.

Grey’s Anatomy News – Dr. DeLuca Could Still Make Appearances on the Show

During last week’s two-hour crossover mid-season premiere with Station 19, which was something that the fans felt so pumped about, the doctors fought hard to save the life of Dr. Andrew DeLuca after he was mortally stabbed. Things quickly took a turn in the emergency surgery and DeLuca ended up losing his life on the emergency table.

The new episode that aired on Thursday focused mainly on the aftermath of the doctor’s death, showing how each person handled DeLuca’s death. Dr. Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) sought comfort from wife Catherine Avery (Debbie Allen). Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) packed away DeLuca’s ID badge and Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) recorded a video tribute for a virtual funeral in honor of the late doctor amid the COVID pandemic.

Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) cared for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) due to her continuing battle with Coronavirus. But even Teddy had to deal with the emotional trauma of DeLuca’s death as she started thinking that the dead doctor was appearing before her, but only just realized that it was only an imagination, as she discovered that pediatric surgeon Dr. Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood) was really the one standing in front of her.

Chief of Surgery Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tried to handle her grief the only way she knew how, and that was by seeking answers to every tiny detail regarding the incident. She insisted that she wanted to have the late doctor’s autopsy results on her table “by the end of the day,” and when Teddy, who was DeLuca’s surgeon, asked why, Bailey replied, “Andrew DeLuca was one of our own. Obviously something went wrong – I want to know what that was.”

When Richard tried to argue that he’d already made her aware of every step of what happened, she insisted that she didn’t learn of anything until the time when she was powerless to do anything.

Grey’s Anatomy News – Severe Case Of The COVID 19

The grieving for Dr. DeLuca’s death was however not the only focus of the show, as Meredith’s struggle with Coronavirus was showcased. Meredith, sedated and on a ventilator, continued to dream about her late husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), who made his third guest appearance of the season in that episode.

She continued to see herself on a peaceful beach with her husband, as they talked about their daughter Ellis, who Derek didn’t know she was pregnant with before he died.

They kept talking about their kids, with her husband making it known to her that their daughter Ellis looks just like her and behaves just like her. Her dream sequence started merging with reality when Dr. Hayes tried to get her to fight for her life. Meredith barely pays him attention which prompts her husband Derek to tell her to “hear him out.”

Hayes then tells her about her kids who are eager to have her back, describing his own pain when he had to witness his kids watch their mother die, telling her that she could fight it since there are lots of fights she’d already won. Derek finally assures her that it’ll be okay and “I’ll be right here.”
