Speaking of his character in the Hallmark Channel movie, Kota said that he liked the fact that his character, Boom had a “really cool name.” He added that Boom was “rooted in culture” but there was more to the character.

Rushi explained that he liked how layered Boom was and that underneath his “sarcastic cool guy exterior” lay an “altruistic softie.” Meanwhile, he was masking his pain from the loss of his father, which was preventing him from seeking out his own happiness.

Moreover, he liked how Boom brought out his own “playful mischievous side, saying it was fun creating his character’s life.

Speaking of his former role in Grey’s Anatomy as Vik Roy, Kota said it was great and was one of his first big TV acting roles, saying:

Ellen, Sarah, Chandra, Justin, Kelly, Kevin, and James were all exceptionally gracious with their time. Just like in the show, they say Grey’s Sloan Memorial is a teaching hospital, it felt very much like a teaching show in acting as well. I had a lot of fun getting to do the stunts for my character Vik who was getting into all kinds of trouble.
