Blue Bloods Was One Of The Most Popular Shows In History

Blue Bloods was one of the most popular shows in television history, and fans and cast and crew alike were heartbroken when it was canceled. The show still had magnificent ratings, and no one could understand the network’s decision to axe it.

The stars of the show, Tom Selleck (Police Commissioner Frank Reagan) and Donnie Wahlberg (Danny Reagan) were the biggest cheerleaders of keeping the show on the air.

So now, fans are wanting to know if perhaps another network picked up the flagship Blue Bloods show, even willing to accept platforms such as Netflix. Read on to see what has happened since the show’s cancellation.

Fans Fell In Love With The Reagan Family

Fans of Blue Bloods quickly became fond of the Reagan family, eagerly tuning in each week to follow their story.

Although there are many cop shows available, viewers formed a strong connection with the characters and their narratives, making the show a cherished tradition for numerous families over the years.

The strong chemistry among the cast was not by chance; the cast and crew genuinely enjoyed collaborating throughout the years. Actors like Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck have openly expressed that being part of the show felt like being in a family.

The last episode, named “End of Tour,” was broadcast on December 13, 2024; this truly signified the end of an era, leaving both fans and the cast unprepared for the farewell.

Unfortunately, Another Network Didn’t Pick It Up

Since the last episode of Blue Bloods aired in December 2024, many fans have been hoping that another network will take over the show and keep it going.

Tom Selleck has also discussed the idea of the series moving to a streaming service. He mentioned, “I can’t understand why they didn’t start streaming it and produce 10 episodes a year; but I’m not in charge.

Everyone wanted to return, and with this cast, it would have been a wonderful gift for the audience; I don’t make those choices.” He continued, “ I’m ready to celebrate and honor this show, but I’m still adjusting to the news”; sadly, there will be no Season 15 of Blue Bloods.

There’s A Silver Lining-A Spinoff Will Premiere In The 2025 Season

As a bit of good news for fans of the series, a spinoff featuring Donnie Wahlberg as Danny Reagan is in the works. He will return to his role and navigate the tough streets of Boston in “Boston Blue.”

This spinoff is scheduled to premiere in fall 2025, so excited fans won’t have to wait too long to discover what Danny Reagan will experience in this new setting.
