Grey’s Anatomy News – A Little History About Her Exit On The Grey’s Anatomy Project
Sarah pulled off from the medical drama before season 15 took off. Her character in the drama portrays a trauma surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital – Who one time was in a relationship with Jackson Avery. Many fans of the drama believed their love story would transcend into a beautiful union as they both shared a daughter. Sadly, that expectation never came to manifestation.
Surprisingly, during her last episode before she quit her job at the hospital, Dr. April married Matthew. This was shocking to many fans. However, they kept their fingers crossed and hoped her decision wasn’t a mistake.
Grey’s Anatomy News – The Reason She Left The Grey’s Project
In August 2018, Sarah told the Hollywood Reporter “I was told that the show had too many characters and they needed to downsize because they couldn’t service all of the characters effectively. They did not want any of us to be left in the background and not getting much of a story”.

After the report came out, Krista Vernoff aired her view and said she felt April (Sarah Drew) had gone through a tough path and had successfully had a soft landing on the other side but she had no idea what could put her through again. Krista Vernoff said it was tough news to comprehend; nevertheless, she had a million positive things to say about the work Sarah did in the medical drama – in the season before she exited the series and she was hopeful April (Sarah Drew) would get a happy ending.
Grey’s Anatomy News – Her Trauma When The News Made Rounds On Social Media
Sarah, while in an interview said that she was blindsided back then. When the report made rounds on the internet that she was being laid off from the project, it broke her. At that time, she was shadowing Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) – who was directing an episode in the season. And she hoped that when she was through shadowing Kevin in the grey’s episode, she would get to direct hers. Unfortunately, the hopes were shattered; they never crossed the night or made a new day.
Immediately she heard about it that afternoon, she went back into her trailer, called her people, and cried like a baby. Many of her colleagues’ came into her space and empathized with her. They told her that they were sad she was leaving the project.

Grey’s Anatomy News – Breaking News On The Grey’s Anatomy
The news of her return came as a joy for many fans. This happened a day after the midseason premiere witnessed the death of Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti). Well, asides from Sarah’s appearance that has been worthy news to behold, other cast members like Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and George O’ Malley (T.R. Knight) have also returned in the current season.
