Kevin Bacon Opens Up About His New Showtime Series City On The Hill

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, Kevin says that he’s been keeping rather busy, despite the ongoing pandemic that has been the coronavirus and how it managed to put a dent in the film and television industry, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. In fact, Kevin says that when he saw the script for the first time he says that the dialogue was shockingly easy for him, mostly because it’s just so good!

Kevin puts it this way to the publication, “Where I always stumble on learning lines is when the lines just aren’t working. And if I am really, really struggling with a line, there are either one or two things that are happening: One, is I don’t know what I’m playing. Like, I’ve lost track of what my intention is. And the other is what maybe the line needs to be constructed in a slightly different way. But I rarely, if ever, do that. And so, as a result, it’s been unbelievably easy to learn these lines and there have been pretty big ones with speeches.”

Kevin also says that in terms of directing himself, it hasn’t been so bad, either. He added, “I think that’s I really about having lived the first season in Jackie’s skin, I like to think that if I really understand a character, you can kind of throw anything at me and I can just live in that moment as that guy. And so, going back and forth between being behind the camera, in front of the cameras, was pretty seamless for me. I mean, it’s a lot of work. I’m not going to lie about that. But if felt good, and it felt energizing. And aside from everything else, just for me to kick off a season having that kind of challenge was really great. I loved it.”

With that said, there’s no doubt that fans will be excited to catch more of Kevin Bacon on City on the Hill.
