Kevin Costner Confirms ‘Yellowstone’ Status

Yellowstone Season 5 will return to Paramount on November 10 2024, but will Kevin Costner be in the new episodes?  After his controversial semi exit from the series, there has been a lot of talk about whether or not John Dutton would be back.  The fan fave finally took to social media and gave fans a solid answer about his status at the Paramount show.  Keep reading to find out what he had to say.

Will John Dutton Return To Yellowstone

Fans were devastated when Kevin Costner’s contract negotiations stalled with the streaming giant and John Dutton was off our screens. 

When Paramount confirmed that Season 5B would be the FINAL season of the popular series, there was a lot of buzz about Kevin Costner returning for the big finale.  Even the actor himself expressed interest in returning to the media.  Sadly, that won’t be the case.

Paramount and Kevin Costner’s team apparently couldn’t come to an agreement on his pay and contract negotiations stalled (again). 

Costner clearly wanted to return to ‘Yellowstone,’ but his demands couldn’t be met.  The actor took to Instagram and shared an update regarding his status on the Paramount series.

Kevin Costner – Speaks Out

On Instagram Costner wrote, “Hi everyone. I just want to reach out and let you know that after this long year and a half of working on Horizon and doing all the things that’s required, and thinking about Yellowstone — that beloved series that I love — that I know you love. I just realized that I’m not going to be able to continue Season 5b or into the future.  It was something that really changed me. I loved it, and I know you loved it.  I just wanted to let you know that I won’t be returning.  I love the relationship we’ve been able to develop, and I’ll see you at the movies.”

It’s certainly a sad day for ‘Yellowstone’ fans, and it doesn’t seem right ending the series without seeing John Dutton again.  Are you looking forward to Season 5b?  Do you wish Kevin Costner was going to be in it?
